“That was in the beginning,” Nandini replied with a smile. “But now, I’ve taught my husband ways to please me. And Rudra Kabali is a fast learner.”

Chaya’s face flushed red in anger. Just then, there was a primitive cry indicating the fight to begin.

The clan heiress attacked in anger.

Nandini could easily dodge the attack. Using a maneuver she had practiced several times, she used the momentum to flip the opponent.

There was a stunned look on Chaya Tadvi’s face as she fell to the ground.

Cheers erupted from the Kabali women, which made Chaya embarrassed and furious. She got up and attacked.

Nandini dodged and flipped her opponent on the ground using a different maneuver.

Her brothers had paid a fortune to train her in self-defense and combat skills, and she was finally using them.

Chaya screamed in fury, and then, letting out a primitive cry, she attacked again. This time, Chaya had her nails out like claws. Nandini was able to dodge most of the blows, but one of them caught her upper arm, causing a slice of pain.

She frowned. She knew the pain wasn’t caused by sharp nails. When she looked closer, she saw a glint of something in Chaya’s right hand. She noticed a weapon that was similar to the three-pronged weapon that Kabalis used. But this one was much smaller and could be concealed within a palm.

Ignoring the pain, Nandini dodged the attacks, which seemed to be driven by sheer fury. Just as Chaya screamed and raised her hand and was about to bring it against her neck, Nandini bent her head lower and caught Chaya’s hand to flip her to the ground.

Deafening cheers with primitive cries of victory erupted from the Kabali clan.

Nandini went towards the fallen opponent and extended her hand. But Chaya Tadvi glared at her, pushed away the hand, and got up.

“You will pay for this insult,” Chaya hissed before walking away from the place.

Great. Now, I made an enemy.

The last thing Nandini wanted was to make enemies, especially in the north clans, which the demon had worked hard to unite. She hoped that Chaya Tadvi wouldn’t turn her father against the Kabali clan.

Ugh.

The rest of the morning continued without any untoward event.

The meeting with the north clan heads concluded, and it was followed by a feast and festivities.

The demon joined her and sat by her side during the meal. He remained next to her while his people entertained the visitors. She wanted to ask what was decided in the meeting, but she didn’t get the chance.

Finally, a couple of hours before sunrise, the visitors began to leave. Chaya Tadvi approached the demon.

“Thank you for inviting Rudra,” she said with a sultry smile. “I have been praying for your safety, and I know you will succeed in once again making the north clans the most powerful in Singoor.”

Nandini noticed that Chaya Tadvi was quite tall, nearly six feet tall, with a deep golden brown, svelte body that she displayed perfectly. The demon and the North clan heiress looked perfectly matched due to their closer heights and tattoos.

She could imagine them having beautiful, deep golden-brown babies with grey-colored eyes. And there was a high possibility of that happening since the demon would marry again when she left him after the statue commissioning ceremony.

A strange burn filled the pit of her stomach, and she resisted the strong urge to shove the other woman away from the demon.

She realized what the burning sensation was.

Jealousy.

Burning jealousy.

She didn’t want any woman laying a claim on the demon.

He is mine.
