Rudra held Tantra’s hair and made him look at him. “This is for killing my parents!”

The sight in front of her was surreal, but she could not look away from the act of Rudra amputating Tantra’s other arm. She wasn’t repulsed by the blood flowing and pooling around Tantra, but his cries gave her a sense of joy and peace.

She slowly raised her eyes to look at her father and saw a reflection of her emotions in his eyes. As if he felt her eyes on him, he turned to look in her direction and smiled at her, eyes filled with great contentedness.

Nandini could only bat away tears as she watched Tantra fall to the sand, howling in pain, but his cries were lost in the powerful chants that filled the air.

Rudra was raging as he looked at Tantra. “This is for stealing the future of Singoor and causing pain to so many parents separated from their children!” With those words, he sliced through Tantra's leg, splashing blood on himself, and the chanting only got louder. Like his anger had not subsided, he growled and said, “And this is for every heir’s life you took.” Another slash through the other leg, and Tantra was left barely alive.

He was rabid from the fact that he had lost. He looked up at Rudra like he had nothing else to say. His eyes slowly moved to where Nandini stood, and she looked at him disgustedly.

Rudra walked closer to where Tantra lay and pinned the spear into the sand. He made Tantra’s limp body sit up against the metal rod and said, “Ask for forgiveness from everyone here. You’ve taken something from everyone who is here today.”

Tantra looked at Nandini like she was the only one he cared for. “I did all of this for you.” His eyes moved to Rudra. “I demand my dying wish. I want this life to be taken by the woman I love.”

She felt Shivay’s arm tighten around her. “No,” she heard her brother say.

Her eyes went to Rudra. His face was covered in Tantra’s blood. When she walked towards him, he stopped her.

“Don’t, Nandini,” he said.

She knew it was a part of Kabali clan custom to honor a dying man’s wish. But Rudra wanted to break the custom for her.

“I want to do this, Rudra,” she said. “I have to do this.”

She reached out slowly to touch Rudra’s hand and reached for the knife. She had to fight her instinct to not hurt or end the life of a human, but Tantra was evil. The pain he caused to so many families is what she felt as she gripped the knife handle and clenched her teeth.

She let out a loud cry as she stabbed him, the blade sinking into his heart. Tantra continued to smile despite the pain.

She looked into his eyes. “I hope you burn in hell,” she said. “And you will never get to see my aunt. You don’t deserve her, and she never loved you.”

This time, Tantra’s smile disappeared. He was enraged as he growled in pain. She saw his head dropping in defeat. She was about to step away when she heard him say her name softly.

The next moment, she felt something prick her neck and saw the smile on Tantra’s face. “If I can’t have you, no one else can. We will meet soon, my tigress.”

She suddenly felt her throat close and her eyes cloud. Her knees buckled, and before she fell to the ground, Rudra rushed towards her, and she fell into his arms.

He picked her up in his arms.

“Nandini, no!” he roared before the darkness sucked her in.

CHAPTER 58

Tibet,

A few days later…

It was late morning when they arrived at the Monastery that Nakul and Rishab had visited earlier.

At the time, they had no idea what the monk meant when he said the color of the eyes was wrong. It wasn’t until it was revealed that Tantra was a pseudonym for Omkar Kabali, the evil behind everyone’s misery in Singoor, that they made the connection to the eye color.

So, this time, all three Thakvar brothers arrived at the monastery along with Rudra.

The monk looked at Rudra for a long moment. “Come in, son.”

With a deep sigh of relief, the Thakvar brothers followed the monk and Rudra.

They walked quite a distance before they heard the distinct sound of running water. When they turned a corner, the narrow stone path opened into a large garden with natural waterfalls flowing from the mountaintop.
