“No!” she snapped. “I won’t sleep until you answer me. I have every right to—”

Before she could finish, his mouth captured hers in a hard kiss. Heat blazed through her body. She was shocked by the sudden passion that rose within her.

But before she could respond, he drew back. His grey eyes watched her in the dark.

“Looks like it’s the only way to shut you up,” he said. “Now sleep.”

She was pissed by his tactic and order, especially since she did lose her mind when he touched her or kissed her.

But instead of turning and sleeping like he commanded, she did the opposite. Grabbing his hair, she crashed her mouth against his. She heard his harsh inhale as she bit his bottom lip hard and pushed her tongue into his mouth.

He tasted like a hot sin. And the taste and the heady feel of it was so addicting, it spun her mind.

The demon kissed her back. Or rather, he devoured her.

One hand gripped her hair and held her ruthlessly while his tongue swept against hers and kissed her with a ferocity that had every single nerve in her body buzzing as though she had touched a live wire. He bit her bottom lip hard, and then he stroked it with his tongue and sucked on it until heat washed through every part of her body.

A moan escaped her.

The kiss ended abruptly when, with a deep, rough growl, he dragged his mouth away. They were both panting with their hot breaths mingling in the cold air.

“If you don’t stop and turn away from me right now, I will fuck you right here in this damn cave,” he warned. “And I won’t give a damn if my people hear or see us.”

The place between her legs throbbed. She was so aroused and in need of his touch that a dark, primitive part of her wanted to dare him to do what he threatened and take her into the cave right then.

That intense desire shook her.

My God.

The demon is turning me into a primitive savage.

Shocked and shaken, and before she gave in to her savage needs, she turned away from him.

Her body shuddered when his arm once again wrapped around her and pulled her close to his hard, aroused body.

“Sleep,” he growled.

She shut her eyes.

But it wasn’t until much later, when the first streak of sunlight appeared in the sky, that she fell into an exhausted sleep in her demon husband’s arms.

CHAPTER 30

The demon wasn’t joking when he said they’d have an early start and a long morning.

He shook her awake barely after what seemed like a few moments of sleep. The sun had just risen.

“Get up,” he commanded.

“Let me sleep,” she mumbled, curling into her body further.

But the savage didn’t let her sleep. With an impatient grunt, he scooped her up into his arms and carried her out of the cave.

She opened her eyes to see his ash-smeared face instead of dark soot. His hair was damp, and his clothes smelled of clean, musky sandalwood instead of smoke, indicating he had taken a bath.

And unlike her sleep-deprived bleary eyes, his grey eyes were bright and intense, indicating he was fully awake and alert.

“Where are we going?” she mumbled, her eyes closing once again.
