"Good thing the ice is right downstairs." I giggle.
Jax chuckles, pulling his sweatshirt over his head before he leans down and presses his lips to mine in a hurry, "Love you Angel, See you soon."
"See you soon. Love you too Jax."
That smile curls again, kiss to the cheek and he is running out of the hotel room. Leaving me to giggle to myself as I crawl back into bed; What else do I have to do, the game is tonight.
I have a whole day to do nothing. And that is exactly what I do, nothing. Finished that book I’ve been wanting to, watched some reality TV while I literally chilled all day. I haven’t done this, in forever, and I remember why; Damn this is boring.
But the hours slowly go by, and its finally time for me to start getting ready.
I take a shower to wash my lazy day away, get this blonde hair of mine dried, throw that face on, before I get myself dressed, of course, slipping into Jax's Jersey.
Hearing my phone ring, I grab it from the nightstand, seeing it’s Jax I answer on video.
"Hey you"
"Damn girl, that number looks better and better on you every time."
I bite my bottom lip with my smile, "How are you?"
"Good, ready to play."
"Someone’s antsy." I laugh and he nods with that cocky smile, "Yeah, just ready to play, and go home."
"I was just about to head over; Josh had someone deliver a pass to me."
"For what?"
I shrug my shoulders, "They said I don’t have to go through the front, and I can get into the back with it."
I see Jax’s eyes dart up, his jaw ticks, before his eyes snap back to me.
"Alright, you have the ticket I gave you right?"
"Yeah. I’m good Jax, promise; Dax said he would call me during their intermission."
"I’m sorry you have to watch alone Angel."
"Not the first time, probably won’t be the last, but I promise Jax don’t worry about me. I’ll see you on the ice."
He pauses for a minute, I can see the worry in his eyes, and he takes a deep breath, "See you soon Angel."
I blow him a kiss before I hang up; Yeah, it sucks I have to be alone, but it’s part of the game sometimes.
I finish getting myself together, slide the hotel key card in my bra along with my credit card and license, and I’m out the door.
Even though I don’t have to go through the front with the pass I have in my hand, it’s still crowded. Stopping at the beer cart, grabbing one, sorry hockey is not a game without at least one beer; I grab a pretzel too and make my way to my seat.
Taking a while to get to my seat, I finally do after squeezing through and bumping into people. The guys are already working their way through the back hallway and the hum of the crowd echoes around shaking the ground my feet are on.
It’s dark, lights shining around in color, the crowd may be loud but unfortunately it is not our home ice, so these fans are Springfield fans. But there are still some fans here for us. After Springfield gets out onto the ice, what fans are here for us, cheer as the guy’s skate out onto the ice.
And of course, no matter if anyone is sitting here sharing this moment with me or not, I am up on my feet, cheering them on. I always thought my life would be surrounded with hockey, of course I always thought I’d end up with one. But after Corey, I told myself I never wanted a relationship with a hockey player.
And look at me now.
As the introductions are done, it’s finally time to play.
