" I knew that dress was perfect for you." Keri giggles.
"You know me well." I shoot her a wink and she laughs, " Yeah and you know me." She spins, showing off the dress I showed her when we went shopping; Blue's her color.
So apparently, according to Jax, Coach Josh told them to skip the dinner tonight, that the guys deserved to have a night off. We’re free now, no boring dinner, holding smiles that make my cheeks hurt because they are most of the time fake ones.
I smile a lot, when I enjoy what I’m doing, those smiles don’t hurt your cheeks.
The three of us walk down the stairs, carrying on our giggling conversation; I think they are excited to spend some time with some hockey players. I guess I turned them on to an addiction because it is one.
As I look up, I meet Jax’s gaze on me holding that cocky smile as he leans against the kitchen island with his leg crossed over the other; Looking fine as fuck in his black suit.
I hum my sigh, more like a moan; This man does things to me.
I drop my gaze with my smile, feeling the heat flood my cheeks red.
"God, damn; Do you three have to look like that." Sully barks and I snort. Meeting Jax’s gaze again before Keri snaps back before I can, "Oh, we’re just getting started boys."
Oh shit; I giggle to myself watching Jax’s eyes widen as his lips part; Oh, Keri, oh, Keri.
Making my way to Jax, "I have to admit Angel" his eyes rake over my body in detail as he chews the inside of his cheek, before meeting my gaze again, his words growl with something primal that makes my insides pulse, "That dress might make us parents tonight."
My brow lifts as my lips part with my smile before my head shakes, "I don’t think so mister."
"Fuck Macie, way better than the picture." His arm curls around me as he leans down, whispering against my ear, "It’s a good damn thing you fed your snake."
I snort a laugh, finding the humor in this before I tilt my head and kiss his cheek before I whisper, "Can we behave for a little while at least? I’d really like to dance."
He chuckles his words, "You can dance your little heart out."
"Perfect."
He kisses my cheek, before he stands to his full height, taking another look down my body with a smile before he gets the guys wrangled up.
We don’t drive, we are close enough to walk, so once again, we walk the same way we did earlier, but it’s later now. The air is cooler, but it feels amazing. The guys in full swing still, of course they are. They had their first win, one step closer to the bigger win.
But as I walk with Jax, his hand curled around my hip I look up and admire Jax, taking in his sexiness, and just him.
As we get to the club, where we are to meet Wes and the guys. We all walk in before we are led to our private section, that opens to the main dance floor. A very interesting and intriguing set up.
Our fun begins; The first of many rounds of shots is had, laughs are shared, the guy’s versions of the game, the winning high feeding off them all.
As the night goes on, the dancing is had, the drinks are had, feeling the heated buzz course my veins, my filter on the very slipped end; Not really having one, nor giving a fuck.
Taking a breather from the dance floor, I make my way back to Jax who has been staring at me dance with Keri and Bree. I sit beside him and ask him the question that has been spiraling inside my head, "Why does Dax know what you’re capable of in the bedroom?"
He barks a laugh bringing his hand up as he pinches his nose, taming his laugh, but it’s no use.
Because when Sully asks, "What’s so funny?"
"Amber?" Jax laughs.
Sully laughs with Jax; And now I really need to know.
"Jax?" I lift my brow.
He pulls his shit together.
"Short version of the story, we were in college, invited to a party but it was a small party, Koda and Dax were there too, Amber and her little friend."
