“Because our bond is incomplete. You still need to bite me.”

“Oh!” I like that idea. Very much. I’d like to bite him as soon as possible. “I want to claim you, too. But not here. Somewhere private and more romantic.”

Lust darkens Raiden’s eyes. “That can be arranged.”

“I’d still like a ceremony after we’re bonded, though.”

Raiden chuckles and kisses my forehead. “Sure thing.” With his hands in mine, Raiden helps me stand. “We better get back to Tokyo as soon as possible.”

Oh. I guess that means I won’t be able to claim him yet. The thought of returning to all our problems kills the fluttery feelings inside me. We still have to face Takada and the hunters. We’ll need a plan. I wait for Raiden by the gate while he pays the necromancer for her services, and then he joins me as we walk back to the car together.

“Where to?” I ask.

“The airport. We can’t afford to waste any time.” He meets my gaze and smiles knowingly. “But don’t worry, you’ll have plenty of time to claim me for yourself.” He waggles a brow, and my blood heats with anticipation.

“Really? How?”

“A private jet?” I squawk, jaw falling open as Raiden walks me down the tarmac toward the jet awaiting us.

“I’m sick and tired of being crammed into overpacked planes. This way, we’ll have the whole plane to ourselves, and I can feel you up without getting kicked off the flight.” He slips his hand down my back and gives my ass a pat.

Now, I’m actually excited about the trip back rather than dreading it. At least we’ll have time to ourselves up in the clouds before we have to face all our problems back in Tokyo. The interior of the jet is beautiful and spacious, with sleek leather furniture, a wall-mounted television, a dining area, and a queen-sized bed covered with silky sheets.

We take our seats while the jet ascends into the clouds. A cheerful attendant offers us food and drink, though Raiden declines. Being dead really works up an appetite, so I order some food and sit on the sofa with Raiden. He drapes an arm over my shoulders and watches some movie while I eat and enjoy his presence.

“Wow. This is amazing,” I say, sighing like a sap as I nuzzle into his side.

He rests his cheek against my hair. We’ve left our worries and cares far below us. It feels like we’re in our own little world, far away from anyone who can hurt us. Raiden nuzzles his nose against my ear. “Hey, Jinta.”

“Hmm?” I take his hand and squeeze.

Raiden’s breath warms my ear when he whispers, “I’m ready. I want you to claim me.”

My heart swoops as I look at him, his whiskey-brown eyes a deep, molten hue. “I’d love that,” I rasp, voice gravelly with want.

The warmth of Raiden’s hand glides up my thigh. “I mean, in every way.”

The breath gets stuck in my throat. Does he mean…

Raiden drags his lips down my jaw and stops inches from my mouth. “I want you inside me while you claim me as yours.”

I swallow as I start to harden, my heart racing fast. “Are you sure?” My eyes close as he caresses his mouth against mine in a barely-there kiss.

“Never been so sure.” His breath scorches my lips, his scent deepening with the same desire coursing through me. “I want that with you.”

I’m so hard, I can barely think, but I know he’s been hurt before. “O-okay. But if we try it and you don’t like it, or if it brings up anything painful for you, you need to let me know. I won’t be upset. Okay?”

Raiden blinks fast when he meets my gaze. “Y-yeah. I know.”

“Are you okay?” I run my fingers over his cheek.

“Yeah. Yeah, just… nobody I’ve been with has ever put me first. You know?”

Leaning in, I deepen our kiss, nipping his lower lip. “You’ll always come first, and you’re going to be my last. There’s never going to be anyone else for me but you. But I’ve never topped before.”

“Really?”

“It sounded overwhelming.” I’d worried I wouldn’t be able to make the other person feel good, so I’d preferred to bottom.
