Page 54 of Mine to Ruin

I open my legs and he grips the bed and he slams inside of me and stays there. I am so full of him I gasp for air.

“I can’t get enough of you,” he says in a low voice, eyes burning with passion.

He thrusts in and out of me. The bed rocks with our lovemaking. My voice is hoarse from chanting my pleasure. I come so hard, my body shakes with aftershocks. I forget the number of times he made me come. What stars? I saw entire galaxies.

He throws his head back as he climaxes, his hands trembling as he holds himself on top of me.

Kian falls next to me and pulls me to his chest, kissing my temple.

“I want those pics, too,” I say right before I fall asleep in his arms.

In his car, in front of the hotel, I fidget with my hands in my lap.

“If we go inside together, people will know the rumors are true.”

“And you have a problem with that?” He takes my hand in his and lifts it to his mouth, kissing the inside of my palm.

I sigh and drag my lower lip through my teeth. “People will talk behind my back.”

“People talk all the time, mostly about other people’s business.”

“I don’t want anyone to think…”

His eyes darken. “That you’re with me?”

I scowl at him and he taps the wheel. “It’s not about that, but I don’t want anyone to think I got the job because of you.”

He leans down to me and cups my face. “Long before I even dreamt of being in your life, you made a name for yourself. Your talent speaks so loudly. There is nothing about me that would ever overshadow that. Nothing and no one can. But people will talk, whether you want them to or not. I’ll do my best to keep the vultures away, but don’t ask me to hide this because it's the only good thing I’m proud to show off.”

Why does he have to say all the right words?

He opens the door, and I climb out. I take his hand, and we walk together through the sliding doors. Our fingers graze against each other, and my skin heats at the attention we draw. But with just one look, Kian sends people rushing back to work, and the knots in my stomach ease.

He walks with me to my studio, and I offer him a small smile.

“Was it that bad?” he asks, his eyes searching my face.

“Worse,” I say digging my teeth into my lower lip.

He cups my cheeks, leans in to kiss me, and everything else is forgotten. My heart is a box bursting with feelings that want out.

“In case you wanted to be discreet, that ship has sailed,” Brandon says, stepping inside.

Kian mumbles under his breath.

“Sorry, did I interrupt?” Brandon adds.

Kian answers, “You have eyes, what do you think?”

“So you’re not at least worried that you two are the hottest subject in the building right now.”

“It would have come out sooner or later,” Kian retorts. He pecks me one last time on my lips and leaves us, sending Brandon a heated look as he exits the studio.

“He’s acting strange. Like he doesn’t care anymore, he just sees you. Who would have thought?” He wiggles his eyebrows. Only Brandon can switch from serious to playful in a blink. “So you and my brother, is this more than sex?”

My cheeks heat up remembering last night. “Not talking to you about my sex life.”

Brandon comes closer. “It’s odd to see him like this. He doesn’t scowl as much. He even smiles. Even our grandfather has noticed.” He hangs his head, and he sighs. “I’m happy for him, but why is he treating me like this?”
