Me: You humiliated me.

Me: Hurt me.

Me: Took my virginity.

Me: Twisted everything with your hate.

Me: All I did was exist, and you hated me.

Me: You judged me without even getting to know me.

Me: All I wanted was to belong.

Me: It shouldn’t have felt good to fuck you.

Me: You became a bad habit I didn’t want to give up.

Me: Then you took it all away.

Me: I hate you for that.

Me: Well, you win.

Me: I’m done.

Me: You got what you wanted.

Chapter 85

Eli

“They grabbed Kellan!” Miles blurts the words the second I pull open the door.

“They? They who?”

“Fucking Jace and Bret and the others. We were behind the pool, and they came around the corner. I was …” His white face turns red. “We were kissing. His pants were down, and I was—”

“I get the picture.” I step out and slam the door behind me.

“They shouted at him to get away from me. Jace pulled him off me and then said they were sick of him trying to mess with me and were going to teach him what happens to anyone who fucks with their friends. I didn’t get a chance to say anything before they dragged him away. He fought, but there were five of them. Eli, what if they hurt him?”

“Show me where they went.”

We set off at a run through the dorm building and burst out of the door. A quick glance left and right shows security is nowhere near, and we take off along the path toward the indoor pool. As we draw closer to the building, a soft groan reaches us. We trade glances.

“What direction did that come from?”

Miles shakes his head. “I’m not sure.”

We stop and stand, listening. A second or two later, there’s another groan.

“Over there.” I turn the corner, which takes us behind the building and into the small compound where the school’s dumpsters are kept.

“Kellan?” I say his name quietly.

A soft moan echoes around the area.

“You go that way.” I jerk my head to the row of dumpsters to the left, while I turn in the opposite direction.
