I know that sweet tone.

It’s her ‘I want something’ tone.

“Yes?” I reply, suspicious.

“Can we go eat cupcakes and macaroons later? Baby sister is craving sweets.”

Raising her higher, I ask, “Oh, is that right?”

“Yes!” She tilts her head, and her grin widens into the sweetest smile. How can I say no to that face? Easy, I can’t.

“Fine,” I growl and pepper her face with kisses, making her giggle.

Yeah, that sound, it’s what life is all about.

Her and her father’s laugh make the world stop for me.

‘Call it what you want’ by Taylor Swift blasts through the speakers the team brought with them as we pose for ten minutes straight. Then my baby decides to make my bladder its personal plaything, and now I need to go to the bathroom. Setting Ellaiza down on the floor, I turn to Micha to tell him that it’s a wrap, when the double doors open and Sebastian walks in dressed in a black suit, with his black hair pulled back and grin that makes him look like my very own devil who has come to take the soul right out of my body.

Yummm… The thirsty devil on my shoulder whispers as I watch Sebastian walk in, sucking the air out of the room as always.

“Dad.” Ella runs toward her father, and he effortlessly picks her up.

“Daddy.” He corrects her at the same time he tickles her belly. Sebastian moves forward until he reaches where I am standing and looks at me, as if he’s hungry. As if he wishes he could eat me alive. No one has ever made me feel the way Sebastian has without saying a word.

He sets my body aflame just by looking at me.

With Ella and my growing belly between us, he kisses my lips softly. “Hey, baby,” he said.

“Hi.” I breathe out while he smiles wide.

Damn you, tyrant.

I can’t get enough of you.

“Oh, that one right there! Yes! Perfect. Don’t you guys dare move!” In Sebastian’s arms, I turn to see Micha with the camera trained on us. “What a beautiful family.”

“Micha! Take all the photos with daddy!” Ella screeches, bouncing in her father’s arms and holding onto my neck. Sebastian’s eyes melt when he sees our daughter’s excitement then his gaze lands on me at the same time his hand touches my belly. For a second, my breath is being held hostage as I look into his blue-gray eyes. Then it happens as if sensing that its father is right there, the baby kicks.

It kicks, and the subtle movement feels like a dozen butterflies spreading their wings inside of me.

So sweet.

So pure.

We both look down in amazement at where Sebastian’s hand is touching my belly. The flash of a camera goes off capturing the moment Baby Kenton made its presence known.

“Well… I guess this one also takes after you.” I tease.

“How’s that?”Sebastian rubs my belly while kissing Ella’s cheeks.

“This baby is not even born and is already stealing all the attention.” I huff. “There’s a beautiful mini tyrant inside of me.” Sebastian laughs, not at all bothered by my comment. Instead, he looks proud. Rolling my eyes playfully, I pat his suit. “Now, if you don’t mind, I need to go to the ladies’ room.”

“Uh-oh. That means little sister is being a nuisance.” Ella gasps comically and then laughs like a crazy person when her father tickles her stomach, making us both laugh in return with her.

Baby kicks, laughs, and love.

Us.
