As I lean against the pillar waiting for my taxi, I take a moment to reply.
Austyn:
Do you need to sleep?
Mitch:
Why, Ms. Kensington. Are you planning on keeping me out all night? I have a reputation, you know.
Austyn:
Uh-huh. I actually have a gig at Club. How about dinner after?
Mitch:
Why don’t I have it ready at your place so you can come home and unwind?
Austyn:
That sounds blissful.
Mitch:
What time?
Austyn:
About 2?
Mitch:
Perfect. Anything you won’t eat?
Austyn:
I’m down for whatever.
Just then, my taxi arrives. As we take the quick ride back to River View, I make one final comment guaranteed to raise his blood pressure.
Austyn:
But I have a taste for something salty.
We’ve pulled up, I’ve paid the driver, and I’m striding through the lobby when I get a reply.
Mitch:
And I have a taste for something sweet. I wonder whose pleasure will come first.
Cheeks burning, I decide I don’t care because either way I win.
Completely.
