I take a moment to jump up and down on the bed before responding.
Austyn:
I am available today after three, or either Saturday or Sunday. Whatever is more convenient for you.
Trevor:
Saturday works best for me. How about 3 p.m.?
Austyn:
I’ll see you at 3 p.m. on Saturday. I look forward to it!

After finishing my text with Trevor, I send one to my mother, who returned to Texas yesterday after paying for another two weeks at the hotel I’m living at. I tried to protest, but she just laid her finger across my lips and kissed my forehead before she slid into the hired car she arranged to take her to the airport.
Austyn:

Mama:

Austyn:
I may have found a place. Keep your fingers crossed.
Mama:
Let me know. How was the—was it a wedding?—yesterday?
Austyn:
Retirement party. A lot of fun actually. It was for an exec at a record company, so they limited the music to their label.
Mama:
Good exposure though.
Austyn:
