She knows she’s got my balls in her grasp. I’ll do anything to make her stay with me, even give up sex. My body goes slack in defeat.
What has she done to me?
“That’s fine. No sex, even though you want it as much as I do.” I shake my head and look away to hide my disappointment.
She wraps her arms around my neck. “Kiss me to seal the deal.”
I groan. “Woman, you really are going to take me to an early grave.”
She presses her lips into mine, and I escape into the wonder of her mouth.
We wake up in each other's arms and it’s the best feeling in the world. I didn’t think Dorothy would make her point by not having sex, but I was wrong.
It was amazing to open my eyes after a night next to her knowing she wanted to be with me and not because I can blow her mind with the most powerful orgasm she’s ever had.
She’s tucked under my arm, her head on my chest. I move her thick auburn hair behind her shoulder.
“Let me take you to breakfast at the private club we went to before.” I press my lips to her forehead.
She peeks up at me through her thick eyelashes. “Are you sure nobody will see us?”
“Yes. No one who works at Efron Worldwide is a member there. It’s invite-only. They have a vetting process where the current members can vote on any new potential members. I’m a founding member, so I know everyone who has a membership.”
“It sounds snooty.” She stretches out and yawns.
“It’s exclusive, not snooty.” I throw my legs off the bed. “I’m going to shower. If you want to join me, you can, but I’ll warn you. I still fantasize about the last time we were there, so I might break my promise if you do.”
She laughs and reaches for her phone. “In that case, I’ll wait. I need to check my emails, anyway.”
“Working on the weekend?” I start to retreat toward the bathroom. “Your boss would be impressed.”
“I’m not doing it to impress my boss!” she hollers back.
I laugh under my breath. She loves pointing out that her job is her passion, which makes me love her more. That thought makes me grateful we’re back together.
I take a shower and get dressed. I wait for her to come out of the bathroom to pick out an outfit. She peeks around the corner.
I point to the bed. “I thought you could wear this green sundress. The color highlights your eyes.”
She shrugs and picks it up. “Sure. I can do that for you.”
She disappears into the dressing room closet to change. I leave her and wait for her in the other room. She comes out twenty minutes later and spins around.
She laughs. “What do you think? Is it everything you wished for?”
My smile is instant. “Everything and more.”
We grab our belongings and leave for breakfast. Once we get on the elevator, I can’t stop looking at her. She’s gorgeous, so I press her against the wall.
“You’re so beautiful.” I push my lips to hers.
I’m exploring her mouth with my tongue when the doors slide open. She turns her head and mine follows. Jamison’s standing on the other side. His gaze sweeps over us just as I step back.
“Jamison, good morning.”
His eyes remain on Dorothy with something I can’t decipher hanging in them, so I glance her way. Her stare is locked with his. My eyes travel back to him. He swallows and peers down as she pushes me away and faces the doors.
They just had a full-blown silent conversation. The realization raises the hairs on the back of my neck.
