Page 69 of Claiming Charlotte

I threw my body forward resting my arms against the counter and met his eyes in the mirror, his eyes were glazed over in lust as he started slowing down his thrusts.

“Please keep going,” I pleaded and his defined smirk gave me the answer I needed.

“As you wish, Boss,” he said lustfully as he picked me up, turned me around, and set me on the counter not missing a beat as he slid back into me.

“Shit, I’ll never get enough of this cunt.” Thrust. “All fucking mine.” Thrust. “Dripping for me,” he whimpered and groaned.

I clutched onto the edge of the counter and bit my lip to stop myself from screaming out the pleasure. He knew exactly what he was doing when his hand wrapped around my throat, and he buried himself into me, filling me like he promised.

We stared into each other’s eyes, and it was easy to feel the unspoken connection we had.

“From the first time I met you, Charlotte, you had that effect on me, the first time you smiled at me, I knew it was over. You had my heart,” he said lovingly.

I wrapped my arms around him and he dipped his head down for a soft, gentle kiss.

“I’m sorry we missed dinner,” I whispered.

He rested his head against mine and chucked. “You know I always have a contingency plan, Princess, especially being with you.”

We arrived at the restaurant just in time and Rowan looked at me with a cheeky smile. Leave it to him to indeed have a plan B, which in this case was a later reservation. It was a nice restaurant with an outside patio, the most beautiful flowers lined the bushes.

The waiter seated us and took our orders. This was kind of weird, it wasn't us, when we went on dates it was adventurous or sentimental, never something like a fancy restaurant and I was getting suspicious. He was off, and my suspicions were further confirmed when he started rubbing his chest in the tell-tale way he always did when he was nervous. “Are you ok, Rowan?”

He stared at me but didn't say a word. He just played with his fork, even when the food came to us, he didn't touch it. “Look at me baby,” I pleaded. “What is it?”

“Were you serious about us staying at the cabin?” He blurted out after a few moments, he looked almost scared to ask. I could see the definition in his jawline as he clenched his jaw. “I have a way to give you what you want, Charlotte, but I’m going to need you to trust me.”

“Of course I was. I am serious, but we have already had this conversation; it’s not possible.”?If this was the reason he brought me to a nice dinner, then I’d like to leave. After a few moments of silence, I dropped my fork and rose from my seat grabbing my cardigan. I was slightly embarrassed and just wanted to go home. I stopped abruptly when a hand grabbed mine.

“Just…sit down please…Maybe..fuck… I’m trying to do this right.” This was a new expression I hadn’t seen and it called out to me, so I sat down and my hardened expression faded to worry.

“Lottie, you are so full of yourself, thinking you could just walk into my life and not expect me to give you everything you deserved, and I am so sorry I made you wait so long. Everything I have done.” He said taking my hand and giving it a slight squeeze. “Has been for you Charlotte. I needed to be ready for someone like you.”

My heart swelled threatening to explode out of my chest and I blinked away the tears. Is this what I think it is?

“I know how you feel about marriage, and I know it scares you, but I will never hold you back, I promise to love you and stand down when you need me to. You have risen above everything life has thrown at you. I have said it before and I will say it as many times as you need me to, you are beautiful, stunning even; and I would be crazy to not want to spend the rest of my life with you.”

I gave him a wide toothy smile at his heartfelt confession and watched as he searched the inside of his suit rapidly. Tilting my head, I chuckled seeing the pout in his bottom lip.

“I forgot the ring, Princess.” He laughed and ran his hands through his hair. He was frustrated. “I hope you have room for dessert, because we are not leaving until that ring gets here.”

Rowan

My knee shook uncontrollably as I watched Charlotte eat her food. How could I be so stupid to forget the one thing needed to propose to someone. She kept giggling at my stature here and there, and I couldn't help but crack a smile back. At least she finds the situation funny. After seeing my father I was too wrapped up in my emotions and going to see Nicole clearly went right over my head. I’m glad we came to a truce, it was like losing my sister not having her around, although, I would never admit that to her.

Even if Lottie said no, I would accept it. She doesn't even have to change her name as long as I get to wake up to her every single day. A buzzing came from my pocket and I took a breath of relief before I stood up and gave her a peck on the lips, “I’ll be right back, don't go anywhere.”

I nodded to Nikki as she came into view, and she set the box in my hand. Thank god. “Thank you so much, you saved my ass.”

“Rowan, she will say yes. She loves you.” Nicole stated. “The band is already set up, and she's probably wondering what's going on.”

I wrapped my arms around her. “Thank you, for everything. You didn't deserve the way I treated you.”

Smiling she ushered me off to get back to Charlotte and nerves overcame me again. Wait, did she say band, I didn’t… I smiled inwardly and looked back one last time. I hope she finds someone that won’t fuck her over, she deserves it just as much as Lottie does.

As I walked closer I could hear the soft melody of Charlotte's favorite song coming from some string instruments, the other couples that were eating had also left and the once brightly lit patio was illuminated in candlelight as the evening settled on us. Nicole made it look like an act, and my heart burst at the sight of Lottie’s face. She finally turned to me and rose from her seat.

“Roe, how did you do all of this?” she asked with a shocked expression. “I don’t deserve this.”
