As her trembling subsided, I replaced my tongue with a single finger, teasing her with slow strokes. I could feel the tension in her muscles as she fought to keep still and the hitch in her breathing as she swallowed her moans. She was doing such a good job following my orders, but I wanted to hear her sugared screams echo off the walls.

A second digit joined the first, curling against her sweet spot. Her breath lodged in her chest, and a wicked grin pulled at my lips. A third followed the other two, and she gasped, but looking up the length of her body, her eyes were still closed, and her hands were in tight fists on either side of her beautiful face just as I’d left her.

Axion was more a fan of praise, but I wasn’t above giving it when it was earned. “That’s my good omega. So fucking perfect.”

I toyed with her, dragging her closer to pleasure and enjoying the wet squelching sounds of her slick as it coated my hand. Her silken walls gripped me as I played with her, but I knew she could take so much more.

“Ask me for what you want,” I said in a low growl, already knowing the answer.

She whimpered before speaking. I hadn’t stopped. If anything, I had started moving slightly faster, and it seemed she might be having trouble forming the words.

“Oh please, fuck me. I need your knot,” she whined so prettily.

I chuckled. So beautifully predictable. Unfortunately for her, she wasn’t in charge right now. “Tonight is about your pleasure, not mine, but don’t worry, love. I’ll take care of you.”

My pace quickened, and her slick flowed. I felt her shudder around my fingers. I knew she was close, but still being so flawlessly quiet. It was past time for that, and I wanted her to scream out her orgasms. So, I growled out a command, and she did not disappoint. “Let me hear you.”

As she clenched down on me, she threw back her head and screamed. My tongue lapped at that sensitive bundle of nerves driving her higher as she thrashed and moaned my name. My perfect girl, my perfect mate.

Before she crested the pinnacle of her climax, I tucked my thumb along my palm and my pinky in beside my other fingers, and slowly sank my knuckles past her tight entrance. She sobbed and whimpered, but it set off another round of trembling spasms tightening around my fist. My tongue worked her over, lapping up the gushing fluids as she squirted all over my face. Fuck, I loved this girl. So responsive and intoxicating.

Not missing a beat, I continued fucking her as she panted and screamed in pleasure. I forced orgasm after orgasm out of her until her throat was raw and hoarse from her cries.

Her bed was a mess, drenched with slick and our combined pheromones. My dick was hard as steel, and my pants were uncomfortably tight over my swollen knot. I told her tonight was for her, and it was. I tucked my raging, protesting cock into my waistband with my free hand while I eased the other from her exhausted body. “You should sleep now,” I said as I dropped soft kisses along the inside of her thighs.

Her reply was a sleepy moan. Her omega nature craved this, but she’d had a long day. She needed to rest after causing no end of trouble. We were going to have to come up with a better solution. The current arrangement wasn’t safe for so many reasons.

My father was wrong about her. He had to be. He’d been wrong about so much lately and it was concerning. I hadn’t noticed when it started. Maybe it was the blind trust between a son and a father. But it’d been happening for a while now. He’d refused to give permission to retrieve Saphyra from the Hive, stating the intel wasn’t accurate, but it had been. The reports of bandits on trade routes had also been a false rumor. He’d been sure that our beta civilians couldn’t birth omegas, and yet that was proven incorrect. What other mistakes were being made, and why? Where was he getting these ideas from?

My beautiful mate lay sprawled beneath me, dragging me from my dark thoughts. Her hair splayed like a golden halo around her exquisite face, her body still soft and pliant from the orgasms I’d given her. She’d already drifted into a light doze, her amber lashes resting on flushed cheeks. She was going to have to be more resilient than that to keep up with all of us. Because she wouldn’t settle for choosing just one, and I was determined to find a way to give her what she wanted.

I disliked sharing her, especially with Grey, who I didn’t know well or wholly trust. But after seeing how happy my team made her—and the way she reached for Grey when she was nervous—I knew I needed to find an answer. Because she deserved all of it, all of us. I would never forget the risks Grey took, the sacrifices he’d made, and what he’d been willing to do to protect her. The stars had chosen us for a reason. I needed to get out of my head. There was enough love here to go around.

As long as I could remember, I’d dreamed of having her as my mate, despite my father insisting I move on. I never would. Sharing her seemed a small thing compared to that. Seeing her lying here, quivering and responsive, was everything I had hoped it would be. Her rosy cheeks in Valyx’s room, and how she smiled for the others, made it worth it. I didn’t want to take those things from her, even if she wasn’t able to bond us all.

When I met Valyx, I never gave up on finding her and claiming her as mine. I didn’t know how our relationship would work, but when the time came, I knew we would find a way, and we had. Everything fell into place so easily, my jealousy notwithstanding. Maybe that was what being Star-blessed mates was about. She certainly was our perfect match. Now, I had to be worthy of her, despite being set in my ways. I wasn’t used to making mistakes or asking for forgiveness, but for her, I would consider doing a lot of things I’d never done.

My hot breath rolled over her swollen center, and she shuddered, oversensitive and sore. She sighed in her sleep, and her softly rounded stomach rose and fell. I wanted to see that belly swell with child. Not because my father demanded it, but because I longed for something like that with her. Something we shared, something that would be the best part of all of us. But not yet. There was so much more to do to keep her safe.

I knew she needed her rest, and my will was already stretched thin. If I stayed in this bed much longer, I was going to give in and let her have what she’d begged for. I adjusted my painfully hard erection through my pants and slowly, so as not to disturb her sleep, dragged myself away.

Her blankets weren’t adequate for an omega, of that I was sure. And her bed was barely large enough for her slight form. She was going to have a hard time nesting, and this wouldn’t be enough once she went into heat. I didn’t know why she’d been put in one of the royal guest rooms, but I was going to find out. She needed better nesting material. But for now, I caught the corner of a soft coverlet and draped it around her sleeping body. Without waking, she nestled into the folds of the fabric, comforted by the softness.

I’d never tucked anyone in before in my life, but the pressure in my chest wouldn’t ease until I knew she was safe and comfortable.

Chapter Fourteen

Saphyra

Irolled languidly across the rumpled sheets and cringed. The bed felt strangely uncomfortable, simultaneously hemming me in, while at the same time not being anywhere near cozy enough. It needed to be bigger, or smaller, or something.

A soft tapping from what seemed like far away pulled me from my dreams, and I squinted against the mellow light streaming through the small skylight. My body was deliciously sore from the night’s activities, and my muscles protested against the movement as I looked toward the noise.

The deep rumble of Lex’s voice reminded me of what we’d done and sent a shiver of pleasure straight between my thighs. His broad back blocked the door, which stood open a crack beyond him. The sound of Violet’s adamant, angry whispers floated to me, but I couldn’t make out the hushed words. They may have been trying not to wake me, but it wasn’t working.

“Stop whispering and just come in,” I grouched. My throat was scratchy and dry after my late night with Lex, and my voice sounded like a frog crawled into my mouth and died. Tasted like it too.

The alpha in question stepped back from the door, allowing Violet entrance. Much to my relief, no one else followed her. I had a passing thought, wondering where the rest of the maids were, but I was glad not to see Aster or Hazel this morning. I’d seen entirely too much of them yesterday.
