“I suddenly have no idea,” I laughed, unable to free myself from her touch.
“I like you like this,” she giggled.
“What, hard, pressed against you and completely at your mercy?”
“Well, yes, but I meant fun, flirty and out from behind that barricade you try to hide behind. That façade of the monster you need everyone to believe you are.”
I pulled away. “I do need people to believe that, and it might serve you better to believe it a bit too. I am a monster. I’ve done horrible things to people….”
“But you haven’t done anything horrible to me,” she cut me off.
“Me loving you could be perceived as something horrible.” I kissed her forehead and walked out leaving the door wide open.
