“Luke, we have to call your parents,” I say as soon as we enter the elevator.

“Why?”

“We just got married. Your mom is going to be pissed. Oh my god, she’s going to hate me!” I gasp.

“No, she’s not, and we will tell them. In person. We’ll make a stop before we head home.”

“What if they don’t approve? I have a lot of baggage. Baggage your mother saw firsthand.”

“I don’t need anyone’s approval, Tanna. You are my wife. Nothing is changing that.”

I pray that he’s right. I pray that he doesn’t have to defend his choice to tie his life to mine.

“We should probably talk about visiting your father,” Luke says after a moment of silence.

“Or we could not and get onto the consummating part?” I suggest.

“That sounds like a great idea.” Luke scoops me up bridal-style when the elevator opens, before he walks down the hallway and taps a card to a door. Then he carries me into an extremely luxurious hotel room. Where he places me on the bed, his body covering mine. “I love you, Mrs. Jameson.”

“I love you, Mr. Jameson.”

“You and me. Always,” he says as his lips brush against my mouth.

“Always,” I repeat.

“Stand up. Let’s get you out of this dress.” Luke pushes to his feet before holding his hand out to me. I look down at myself.

“I can’t believe I got married in black.” I laugh.

“Wanna do it again? Get a white dress? Because I gotta be honest, babe. I’ll marry you over and over. As many times as you’d like. Best fucking day of my life,” Luke says with a grin.

“No need for a redo.” I reach behind my back and unzip the dress. When the fabric falls to the floor, I’m left in nothing but a black lace thong and a pair of heels.

Luke inhales a sharp breath, his eyes glazing over. Filled with lust, heat, and love. So much love. For me. That’s when it hits me. I thought Andrew loved me because he never left. I honestly thought that was love. It wasn’t. It never was.

This. The way Luke looks at me. Loves me. This is the kind of love I hope every woman gets to experience in their lifetime. It’s the kind of love that lights up your world, even on the darkest of days. And I’ve had a lot of dark days.

I’m not dismissing the work I’ve put in during my sessions with Dr. West, but I know if it weren’t for Luke, I would not be where I am today.

“I’m the luckiest guy alive,” Luke says, taking a step back before gesturing to my underwear. “Take those off.”

I pull my panties down my legs and am left standing in just my heels.

He points to my feet. “And those.”

I step out of my shoes and kick them to the side.

“This,” Luke says. “I’ve never seen you wearing anything more perfect.”

“I’m not wearing anything.” I lift my arms to cover my torso. Or at least attempt to.

“Wrong. You’re wearing my ring.” Luke steps forward, takes my hands, and pulls them down to my sides. “Never hide yourself from me. There isn’t an inch of you that I don’t love.”

“Okay.” I nod. I can’t promise that I won’t try to cover my body. There are parts of me I don’t like being seen. Old scars I don’t want to explain.

“I want you so badly.” Luke trails his fingertips down my chest, over my stomach, until he reaches my pussy. Then he circles my clit. “I’ve never wanted anything more.”

“What about hockey? You always wanted to play hockey.”
