She takes the gin from me and I watch as she sips it.
“Oh, actually, just give me a second. I need to run to the men’s room. I won’t be long.”
I stand up, walking away, around the corner and out of sight. Except I’m watching her in the mirror.
She looks nervous.
She stares down at her drink, then shakes her head, grins and downs the entire thing. Could I have asked for anything better than that. I guess she was trying to settle her nerves, but she is in for a surprise.
I wait a bit longer, glancing at my watch, taking note of the time and knowing it won’t be long before the effects start to kick in.
When I’m ready, I head back to the table, sliding into my seat and picking up my own drink.
“You’re finished with your drink? Can I tell them to bring you another one?”
“Not right now.” She smiles.
“Let me know when you’re ready, and I’ll get one for you.”
She nods and blinks a few times. It’s probably starting to feel a little weird for her, as the drugs should be moving through her system soon.
“So, what do you do when you aren’t dancing alone at a club?” I ask, continuing our conversation as casually as possible.
“I enjoy reading.”
“And shopping, I’m guessing.”
“Shopping?” she says, her words slurring at the edges.
“Yes, a girl like you. I bet you shop all the time.” I know she does. Spending all her father’s money. Luxurious overpriced items that come with a cost she doesn’t care about.
“I don’t—I just—I feel dizzy.” Her eyes are glazing over as she tries desperately to blink the feeling away.
“It’s okay, Sasha. Don’t fight it,” I say darkly.
“I didn’t—tell—you my—name.” Her breathing becomes heavy as she tries to fight the inevitable. Her body starts to relax, and she slides deeper into the seat. I pull her against me.
“Just let it happen,” I whisper against her ear.
“Who…?” her words drift away she closes her eyes and slumps against me.
Chapter 4 - Sasha
The tall, dark, ridiculously sexy stranger leans close to my ear on the dance floor and invites me to join him for another drink. His voice vibrates through me, making me feel even more alive than the music does.
His words hint at adventure and mischief.
I know I should say no. I know I’ve already stayed too long here. I have to get home before my father does. If he finds out I’ve snuck out, there will be hell to pay. He’s never caught me before because I was always so careful, always keeping my nights short. Just dancing, enjoying the music, and then leaving while it was still early.
But tonight, things are different. I feel so good standing this close to this man. I don’t know what it is about him, but I want to know more. I want to know who he is. I want to feel his hands on me. I don’t even know his name, and he doesn’t know mine. Maybe it’s better that way.
A mystery and a thrilling temptation.
I feel my cheeks flushing as nervous excitement rushes through me when I agree to join him in a more private setting.
I can’t believe I am doing this.
He takes my hand, and when his warm fingers wrap through mine, my heart beats even faster. I can barely hide my grin as I let him lead me off the dance floor.
