“Yeah, man.”

I think so…

I’m not in the mood to try and figure out what just happened.

“What are you doing Friday?”

I rub my neck. There’s a crick in it from bending it in that damn car during sex.

The sex was great. I had sex during the work day, who can say that?

Yet I’m perplexed and down right grumpy.

“What’s Friday?” I ask, remembering that my coworker has asked me a question.

“We’re all going out to celebrate a three day weekend since we’ll be off Monday.”

I blink a couple times.

I’m ready to say no, that I’ll be hooking up with some hot dude.

But when I glance at my boss’s window, I see the blinds are wide open and he’s looking at me. It should creep me out, right?

Instead I’m fighting a stupid blush spreading across my cheeks.

“Dude, come on, it’ll be fun. Apparently the boss will be there too.”

That should not be a swaying factor. If anything that should deter me.

“Yeah, I’ll be there.”

Instead of going to the movies with Danny.

Like he was gonna take me anyway.

Friday comes too quickly. And I shouldn’t be complaining but as I tug at my black blazer, I’m feeling too stuffy and self conscious.

Determined to make this day good, I get to work and start researching the nearest resources in Northern California.

Our company, Sealine Voyages, offers resource guides to visitors from all over the world.

I get to deep dive into anything and everything. Honestly, I can’t believe it’s a job. It started off as a company for people in the area on vacation and quickly grew to outsourcing different research for companies who want to invest in the area or start up here.

If a trucker needs the fastest route from here to southern California, I’m their man. If a couple wanted to get married here, I send them the best venues.

I’m pulled from my project when Anthony leans close to my face.

“Jesus!” I yell, swiveling back and back into his foot.

“Sorry!” He says with a laugh. He pushes his phone into my line of sight.

I give him an obligatory laugh, then sit back in my chair.

“My girlfriend, Bella, is coming to get me for lunch.”
