Now I’m feeling something caught in my throat. I’m special enough to bring to a place he was last with his mom? No way.
“Ace..”
He quickly changes the subject. “And there’s a tiki bar in the adults only pool and a bathing suit optional pool…”
My eyes go wide. I’m pretty sure I’m blushing too.
“At seven pm I have a reservation for us at the Italian restaurant. I figured we can spend most of the afternoon checking everything out, go to dinner, then we can go swimming if you’re up for it.”
I nod. “I’m up for anything!”
Wait. “Well, I’m not sure about the naked pool though…”
He snickers.
We get to the main office building and check in.
The man running the desk is way too excited about his job. “Welcome, I’m Terry and if you need any help, feel free to give me a call on my personal cell, Mr. Maverick.”
Ace nods. “Thanks.”
I can’t imagine what type of problems would require the use of that, but I guess this man knows my man and doesn’t want to risk anything.
As they’re getting everything set up, I look around the enormous lobby. The white floors shine so bright and the giant wooden ceiling fans spin lazily. Outside I can see one of the pools where children are jumping and splashing around.
There’s a sign behind us pointing in the direction of public restrooms, a movie theatre and an information booth.
“Enjoy your stay,” Terry says with a huge smile as Ace takes the keys and grabs my hand.
As we walk away, Ace flips the card from front to back before shoving it in his sleek leather wallet with his free hand.
“What would we call him for?”
Ace shrugs and opens my door for me. I climb in and try to guess which building we’ll be staying in.
We park at building three and grab our suitcases from the trunk. We roll them behind us as we wind through the hallways and past other doors and up the stairs, I wonder if all the buildings are the same or if they differ in some way. Does money factor into each one? Are all guests given Terry’s number or is Ace actually receiving special treatment?
“Here,” Ace says, swiping the key in front of room 313.
He gestures for me to enter first and once I flick on the light, it’s a huge change of scenery. The hallways were all concrete and rather drab looking. The interior is the complete opposite.
The marble floors start at the entrance and flow through the entire space. There’s a mini kitchen to the right and straight ahead is a big double glass paned door leading out to a little balcony. I follow it and jump when the door slams closed behind us.
“I’ll never get over how jumpy you are,” he says with a laugh.
My face is for sure a shade of pink as I wiggle and stick my tongue out at him.
There’s a little living room with a couch and some chairs and to the left is the bedroom.
Ace rolls his suitcase into the room, flicks on the light and to the very left of the door is a Jacuzzi!
“Sweet!” I’m tempted to start stripping now.
“Let’s go see the view.”
I park my suitcase next to his. They’re matching, the only difference is mine is littered with pins I started collecting since moving into Ace’s place. Everywhere he takes me, I find a pin.
Some are extra special, some I just liked the look of.
