He looked at me with passion-drunk eyes. “Come for me, Ash.”

I cried out, tossing my head back onto the pillow as wave after wave of sheer carnal pleasure ricocheted through my body.

His rhythm increased as he rose onto his hands, his gaze never straying from my face. I moaned again and wrapped my legs around his waist. He slowed, pulling out halfway and pumping three times.

He thrust into me hard, the sexiest growl-groan I had ever heard escaping his lips as he collapsed on top of me, finding his release. He stilled, pushing deep inside me, his breath coming out in huffs.

Wrapping my arms around him, I kissed the side of his head and held on like he’d disappear if I let go.

“You’re a goddess,” he whispered against my ear.

“Just a fire witch.”

He rolled onto his back, tugging me to his side. “There is nothing just about you.”

I draped my leg across his hips and rested my head on his shoulder. We lay there silently, basking in the afterglow of the hottest sex I’d ever experienced, and he traced his fingertips along my arm.

Night had fallen, and the waning moon cast a silvery glow in my bedroom. The kitchen door opened and closed. Boots thudded on the hardwood, going silent before the footsteps reached the hall. A door clicked shut. Finally, Ember gave me privacy.

Chaos kissed the top of my head. “Your sister won’t approve of this development.”

“She doesn’t get a say in my sex life.” I snuggled closer to my demon and fell asleep in his arms.

A thud, followed by a man whisper-shouting, “Shit,” drew me from my slumber.

I sat up, and Chaos shot out of bed to put on his underwear. “You’re alarmed. That’s not a normal sound in your home.” He put on his pants.

“Maybe Ember brought a guy home, and he’s trying to sneak out.”

My doorknob twisted, and I clutched the sheets to my chest. If this was my sister checking up on me, I swore to Hecate…

The door swung open.

It wasn’t Ember.

“Shade.” I glared at the insolent man standing in Ash’s doorway.

Surprise lifted his brows, indicating I had just given away my secret.

“What the hell, Shade?” Ash asked before he could question my ability to see through his shadow screen. She clutched the sheets to her chest, and I stepped in front of him, blocking his view of my witch.

“How dare you sneak in here?” She rose, keeping the sheet firmly wrapped around her, and disappeared into the bathroom. A few seconds later, she returned wearing a blue robe cinched tightly around her waist. “And hiding yourself with shadow magic? What are you doing?”

“I knew it. I knew he wasn’t some long-lost cousin.” Shade moved deeper into the room, dropping his cloak. Ash sucked in a breath, finally able to see him, and I stopped him with a hand to his chest. He attempted to knock my arm away. When he couldn’t move it, he scoffed and stepped back, straightening his shirt.

“How did you get in here?” Ash stood next to me, resting her hand on my arm, reminding me to behave.

“I have a key. Duh.”

I bit back a growl.

“Not to the upstairs, you don’t.” She tightened her grip on my arm.

“You’re not the only one who can pick a lock. I knew something was going on between you.” He paced toward the bed.
