“Tell me you love me,” he pants. “I need to hear it.”
“I love you, Brock.”
“Sadie,” he whispers. “I l-”
His orgasm claims him before he can say the words back. And the sight of him coming apart because of our love is enough to bring me with him. I moan his name as my entire body shudders with pleasure. But he keeps moving until he all but collapses against me. His legs give out, but he manages to lower us to the floor before he falls onto his back with me pulled tight against his chest. I welcome the feel of him and his warmth while we recover. After a few minutes, he sighs.
“I love you, Sadie,” he says. “God, I love you so much. Please don’t let whatever Bianca is after come between us. I just found you and I don’t want to lose you.”
I smile at the sincerity of his words. Then I lift my head so I can kiss him. He immediately threads his hand into my hair so he can lick into my mouth. I happily allow it for several minutes. When I finally pull back, I brush my hand over his cheek. His eyes close as he leans into the contact.
“I love you, Brock,” I tell him. “I love everything you are. Your talent and your desire for me and all the things you make me feel. I’m not going anywhere. But…she’s not going to give up.”
“I don’t care,” he says again. “I have nothing to give her. Everything thing I am now is for you and only you.”
I smile and press another kiss to his lips.
“I believe you,” I tell him.
He sighs in relief. Then he helps me stand so we can right ourselves. And none too soon either since someone knocks on his door just moments after he’s buckled his pants. He kisses me sweetly before gesturing for me to sit in the chair. Then he opens the door.
There are several students there, all of whom are also participating in the songwriting contest. I guess Brock has been advising them on their submissions and they want him to hear their final products. He looks back to me first and raises an eyebrow in question.
“I’d love to hear them,” I smile.
“Very well,” he nods. “Come on in.”
The three students file in, all of them sending curious glances in my direction. Without being asked, he tells them who I am. And the warmth in his voice when he speaks is just as delightful as his touch.
“This is my girlfriend, Sadie,” he says.
They nod and wave hello. Then they turn their attention to Brock as he takes each one of their thumb drives and plugs it into his computer to play their songs. All of them are wonderful, and even Brock thinks so, but there’s something lacking. I’m surely biased, but it is what it is. After wishing them luck, one of them asks a question I’m not sure if he’s going to answer.
“Are you going to send in anything, Dr. Rush?”
He smiles wide as his eyes dart over to me. I simply bite my lip to fight off a giggle. I have no idea if his students are aware of his songwriting ability. But the thought of it is enough to make me blush because of my part of his process. Something that I don’t want to end anytime soon. He gives me a wink before turning back to answer. But when it comes, it’s not from him.
It’s from Bianca.
“He should,” she says with a bright smile. “Dr. Rush is one of the most talented songwriters I know.”
Brock’s expression turns thunderous. But when his students look in her direction, their faces light up with…recognition? I’m confused until the one who questioned Brock now addresses her.
“You’re Bianca!”
“I am,” she says smoothly.
“You just got signed to Roll With It’s new label, Homegrown.”
“I did.”
And then the reason for her being here falls into place.

My blood boils in my veins as I watch my students shower Bianca with questions and compliments. Slowly, I turn to look at Sadie. And I can tell that she’s thinking the same thing I am. When she shakes her head and mouths the words ‘I’m sorry,’ it sets me into motion. I walk toward my students and tell them that I have an appointment and need to get going. While I don’t like lying to them, I have no problem doing so if it gets me as far away from Bianca as possible. As soon as they’re all outside my office, I shut the door and lock it. When I turn around, Sadie is right there. With a sigh, I pull her into my arms.
“What are you going to do?” she asks.
