“Yes, but only—”
He cut her off again, filling her mouth with his tongue, forcing her to suck on the tip and when she did, she drove him over the edge.
His fingers reached the apex of her thighs.
“Fuck,” he roared. “Where are your panties, McKenna?” His voice was so rough and raw, his throat hurt. She was going to be the death of all three of them.
“They’re in Hayden’s pocket. The dress… I didn’t have my purse…”
Nothing could stop him now. He dipped his finger into her. She was celestial and touching her wet hot tight pussy was transcendent.
“Why are you wet, McKenna?”
She didn’t answer immediately.
He bit her lip.
“Why?” He started to lick where he had bitten before, making her sigh against him.
“Because Kade touched me and then Hayden and now you’re touching me.”
Fucking hell. He stroked her clit, imagined what sucking on that tiny little diamond of her would do to his soul. He wanted to make her come. He needed to make her come.
But the sound of voices interrupted him, one male one female. Their teasing laughter had McKenna pulling her dress in place immediately.
He had forgotten the entire reason he needed a fake fiancée in the first place. Robert and Samantha Carlisle had somehow become the owners of a piece of land in Montana. Ledger wanted that land because it had once belonged to his mother.
Robert Carlisle didn’t believe him when he said he wouldn’t do anything to the land except let it be. Well he didn’t blame them; his reputation did precede him for being a ruthless businessman together with Hayden and Kade.
So to make sure they were selling him the land for no other reason than to keep it, they wanted to know he was a romantic. A man whose heart belonged to someone. Hence, fake fiancée. The truth was he didn’t feel bad. He had no intention of giving his heart over to anyone and if they couldn’t have McKenna Riley out of respect for their mentor, he planned to die unmarried and not in love.
“Sorry to interrupt. I know what that feels like, so if you want us to come back later, we can,” Robert teased.
“That’s all right,” Ledger said, holding onto McKenna with such possessiveness he was even reluctant to let her go to the ladies with Samantha so he and Robert could discuss the sale of land to him over some 50-year Scotch.
Chapter Ten
After going to the ladies with Samantha Carlisle, McKenna used it as an excuse to escape Ledger. Since she’d arrived in her own car and the Carlisles were aware of that, she told Samantha she was feeling rather tired from a long day at the office and was going to head home.
She even pretended to send a message to Ledger to let him know she was leaving and that she would see him tomorrow. It bothered her how easily the lies came, but she just wasn’t herself anymore.
This was further confirmed when Mrs. Harold, aka, Cantankerous Aunt, called her at one in the morning as she drove home and told her to bring the papers for her to sign and Marvin Johnston.
If McKenna had been drinking something, it would have come out through her nose. Mrs. Harold wanted a booty call at one in the morning. And who was she to stand in the way?
She called Marvin from her car; thankfully he identified as a night owl and seemed quite eager to pay Mrs. Harold a visit… at one in the morning.
Could anything spell booty call clearer? Nope.
She picked Marvin up, dropped him off, had Mrs. Harold sign over a title deed, and waited for the rush of adrenaline to strike at the thought of checking an item off her to-do list that had been pending for seven days now.
Nothing came. But maybe it would return once she actually got out her binder and did the deed.
She’d come home famished, ate the leftover pizza from the fridge, sat down at her kitchen table, and ceremoniously checked number two off her to-do list.
Find three fake wives for one night.
She then green-ticked the only item on her pending list: Get Mrs. Harold to sign the title deed over.
