My mind is hazy; an SOS was assigned for us to send when we need backup. So, the fact that the girls sent it makes me dizzy. I don’t know what’s happening. Is she safe?
It takes us about ten minutes to reach Club Beat. At normal speed, it would take twenty-five, but we weren’t wasting any time. Three large guys are standing off against Angel, Tequila, and Jules.
What the fuck is going on, and what the fuck are these bastards doing going against women half their sizes? The pulsation in my ears grows heavy and my breathing is uncontrollable.
We pull up to the front of the club and park; we’re all off our bikes in seconds. I don’t even think twice. I head straight for Jules. The relief in her eyes when she sees me makes me feel like fucking Superman. I take her face in my hands and look her up and down. “You okay? What the fuck, Jules? You okay?”
She nods frantically then relaxes. I gently kiss her forehead. I’ll be back for her but first… I spin to see Tank, Chain and the rest of them step up in front of Angel. Throttle is blocking Tequila, creating a barrier. I beeline it to Tank. Angel’s behind him.
“You guys, I got this.” Angel goes to step around Tank, but Chain shoves her back. Not hard, but enough to get his point across. “You, shut the fuck up and stay back.”
“Chain, well, shit. It’s been a long time.” The large dude chucks his cigarette to the side. He’s wearing a leather motorcycle vest, all three of them are.
“Pipe.” Chain’s stern voice echoes through the night air.
“That’s quite a mouth your girl has back there. I could put it to better use.”
A growl comes from Tank. “You wanna say that again?”
“Jesus Christ.” Chain runs his hand down his face. “I’m going to step up and apologize for anything my member might have said. Sometimes her hotheadedness gets the better of her. We’re just trying to keep the peace, brother.” Chain surrenders with a hand up in the air. “However, with that being said, don’t you ever go up against our women again, or I might not be so nice and apologetic next time.”
The intensity in the air is thick.
“We’ll take care of it.” Bullet nods to Pipe. “You and this club are done here.”
“All right, fine. I suggest putting a muzzle on her though.” With those fine parting words, they walk away. We watch them until they get on their bikes and disappear.
“Can I just say one thing…”
Chain’s hand shoots up in Angel’s face, closing any gap between them. “You don’t talk. You’re going to listen and you’re going to listen well. I don’t know if you knew who those guys were that you single handily pissed the fuck off, but I can guarantee you don’t want them as an enemy. And what? You thought having the Skulls on our bad side wasn’t enough. You just had to go and piss off another club?” Angel doesn’t say anything; she just looks at him, taking it like she’s getting scolded by her father. “Now, I suggest you get your shit together. Take Tequila home and get out of my sight.”
A couple of glances are being shared before the girls walk away. I immediately stalk toward Jules. I tug her close to me, wrapping my arms around her and needing to feel her against me. I breathe in her scent and she clenches onto my shirt for dear life. They aren’t the ones we need to worry about. But that’s just for right now.
“I’m sorry I didn’t tell you that we were going out tonight.” Her voice is muffled in my shirt.
“Anything happens like that again, you immediately call me, no questions, Jules.” She nods her pretty little head. “Let’s go. I’ll take you home.” I grab her soft hand in mine, leading her to my bike. Some of the guys left already and Tank looks to me with a head nod.
“You guys good, brother?”
“Yeah, we’re good.” He nods back before taking off behind Chain and the rest of them.
“Should we be worried about those guys?” Jules is concerned and I don’t blame her.
“Not at the moment.”
I do mean not at the moment. We’ve never had a problem with them. Not before tonight. Angel needs to learn to cool it.
“I just realized this is going to be my first time on the back of your bike.” She smiles with a hint of excitement in her eyes.
“This will be the first time any woman has been on the back of my bike, pretty girl.”
Surprise hits her face. “Wait, what? You mean you’ve never had another woman on the back with you?”
“Nope, you’re it, babe.” I hand her my helmet, helping her with the strap, then I swing over my seat. “We don’t let just any woman on the back of our bikes. She needs to be our ride or die. Climb on.”
She stares at me intently, and with lust, before climbing on the back and scooting in close. The faint breath of her whisper grazes my ear.
“I have to admit… I’m glad no one else has been on here.”
