Page 109 of Rebel Romeo

Thank God we didn’t have lines in this scene. Keith chose to write in a narrator, similar to the original version of Romeo and Juliet. Downstage, Bailey recited her lines while we laid in bed together.

I turned my focus to Katherine.

Beautiful, talented, smart Katherine.

“What was your first time like?” she asked, her voice a whisper.

I blinked, my heart racing in surprise at the question. That’s never a question that a girl wants the real answer to, right? It was a trap. I’d already answered her whole ‘have you been with a virgin before’ question honestly last week.

I whispered back, “Oh, you know. A lot like this. Less of an audience. But just as much applause.”

She rolled her eyes, and I kissed the corner of her smile. “I’m serious.”

“I am, too. There might have even been a standing ovation or two.”

Professor McCay barked from the audience. “Less talking, more passion, you two!”

I groaned and adjusted my weight over top of her. As I moved, it caused the sheet covering us to slip, revealing the swell of her cleavage out from the strapless body suit thing that she wore. And I was only wearing boxer briefs to give the appearance that we were both nude.

The small scraps of fabric left very little to the imagination. Her nipples hardened, pebbling, and I could make out the small dark circles beneath the thin material. I winced as my dick responded.

“Shit,” I muttered, trying to pull away from her.

“Wait,” she whispered, and her hands wrapped around my hips, trying to tug me down over her.

“For the first time all day, you’re in the moment,” Katherine said. “Stay with it.”

“I don’t think that’s a good idea.” I squeezed my eyes shut. She didn’t know what she was asking.

“Stop arguing,” she snapped, interrupting my thoughts. “Just go with it.”

Clearly, Kate didn’t like not being good at something. But it was the first time that she seemed to let it show that the fact that we weren’t able to make the sexiest scene in the show work bothered her.

Below me, Katherine moved her hips, naturally churning them against mine. I fought the momentum of her pulling me into her.

Just as my cock brushed the inside of her thigh, I jerked my hips back, pulling my body away from her.

Professor McCay sighed, and I registered the sound of her binder slapping the floor. “Holden, even though you’re covered by the sheet, we can see you pulling away from her. You two are going to have to get used to touching in this scene for it to work. Don’t tell me you’re uncomfortable with touching Kate. We all know that’s not true.”

I muttered a curse, ignoring the heat that stung my cheeks and looked to my right, catching the pitying look Keith gave me from where he stood beside Professor McCay. He gave us both an encouraging smile and said, “I know it’s uncomfortable at first to do a physically intimate scene live on stage. I promise, we’re going to keep it tasteful?—”

Professor McCay lifted a hand into the air, interrupting him with the gesture before she even started speaking. “Don’t coddle them, Keith. From the chemistry I’ve seen with them this semester, both on and off the stage, this should be easy.”

I muttered a curse beneath my breath, no longer fighting as Katherine curled her legs around my hips, drawing my body against the heaven waiting between her legs.

It was pointless to fight this. I gave in, dropping my head between my shoulders just as my cock pressed firmly between her damp thighs.

Fuck me.

She was so wet I could feel it, even between two layers of clothing.

The world around us slowed and with a tiny gasp, Katherine pushed her fingers through my hair, tugging my lips down to meet hers.

“No,” McCay’s voice pierced the air. “Julie doesn’t kiss Remy. He kisses her. He initiates. Try it again.”

Closing my eyes, I dipped my nose into the curve of her neck and inhaled her sweet rose scent. I spent so much time these first few weeks ignoring my feelings for Katherine; pretending that my stomach didn’t flutter when she brushed by me. Pretending goosebumps didn’t race down my arms when she smiled at me. Pretending that weird shimmer down my spine was just the air conditioning kicking in and not due to any proximity to Katherine.

And now, I had to forget the pretending. I had to give in to all those feelings.
