She disappears, and I shove my hands in my pockets. I’ll be there on time. I don’t have a singled doubt about that. But Tuomo and Red have been taking tequila shots and I’m wondering if they are going to make it.

Although, they both look like they are handling it just fine.

I sigh.

Mas comes up next to me, gripping my arm.

“Relax man. Don’t worry about this mess. I’ll sort everything out here. If you want to go ahead to the venue, you can. I’ll make sure the caterers are ready for our return party.”

“You sure?” I ask, because I really, really want to get out of here. There are too many people and there is too much going on.

“I’m sure. Go.”

With relief I leave the house, grabbing my tuxedo jacket on the way to the car.

I cannot wait to marry her again. And I want this to be the most special day for her — but I hate all of this attention.

I just want her to be happy. I want to celebrate with her. And I know she is loving every moment of this day. She’s been excited about it for weeks.

I pull out my phone in the car and message her.

Me: I’m thinking about you. I can’t wait to see you.

Lila: I’m so excited. I love my dress and my flowers. I love everything about today. Can’t wait to marry you again.

Me: Is my sister being a pain in the ass or is she helping you?

Lila: You’ll never believe it. She kept the penny - from our first wedding. I left it in her shoe, and she found it and she kept it. It’s in my shoe again.

I chuckle. Lucia really is sentimental. I’ll have to have that coin framed.

Me: A Six pence for your shoe. Keep it safe. It’s been with us since the beginning.

Lila: And forever.

The church is overflowing with guests when the organ music plays.

A hushed silence falls across the room as everyone turns towards the doors.

Lila steps inside in the most beautiful dress ever.

It hugs her waist, flaring out around her like a soft cloud, moving and swirling over her body like waves caressing the shoreline.

The sleeveless bodice hugs her, accentuating her feminine, delicate shoulders, and that gorgeous plunging cleavage.

She walks towards me with the veil covering her face.

Memories flash through me.

The night I married her.

My heart always knew it was her.

I had no doubts, and now, seeing her walking towards me again, I know it all over again.

She was always meant to be mine.

This world knew the moment she was born that she would one day belong to me.
