“You’re doing so good, little girl. I am so proud of you.”
“Kinda hard,” I admitted, dropping back into my tiny headspace. Despite Reagan’s younger age, I was still the youngest Little out of the friend group, hence why most of the Bigs called me Teenie.
“I bet it is hard, Tinsley, but you’re being so brave.” He dropped his head and pressed his lips to my forehead. His dog tags fell from his chest and I reached up to play with them. We stayed that way for several minutes before he wrapped the towel around me and sat me up. I was still naked under the towel.
“Alright, do you want a peanut butter sandwich or a grilled cheese?”
“Peanut butter, please.”
He laughed. “I figured, and had Uncle Maddox go ahead and cut one into a flower for you.”
“Pretty,” I said in awe of the sandwich. How cute!
Reagan walked over and sat on the lounge chair with us. She was naked too, but she didn’t seem to mind like I did.
“Are you guys all done swimming, or do you think you’ll get back in after lunch?” Uncle Travis asked.
I picked at the apple slices Uncle Tyler had placed in front of me. I didn’t care what we did as long as I got to put my clothes back on.
“Do you want to play with my new sidewalk chalk? I got some new ones with my good girl dollars.”
I nodded at Reagan.
“We wanna play outside, Daddy.”
Once we finished our lunch, Tyler laid me back down and switched out my swim diaper for a regular diaper. I covered my eyes in embarrassment. I hated this. Tears pricked my eyes. Everyone around me kept the small talk going and I appreciated them trying to help.
Once Uncle Tyler snapped my romper back together, he sat me up and pulled my hands away. “All done, little one. We’re so proud of you.”
“You were such a brave girl, Teenie,” Uncle Maddox praised.
“The bravest,” Uncle Travis added.
“Your Daddy is going to be so proud of you,” Uncle Tyler said. He handed me my bottle of juice, and settled me between his legs, with my legs over his knee and my side pressed against him.
“Once you’re done with your juice, you can go play with the chalk, okay?”
“Yas-huh,” I answered, taking a long pull of the cold juice. Being a Baby in front of others wasn’t my favorite thing, so I found comfort in my baba. We sat talking and enjoying the weather as I finished my juice. My mind drifted back to Daddy and I wondered what he was up to again.
Chapter Two
Tyler
Holding a sleepy babygirl just did something good for my soul. I patted Tinsley’s diapered tush as she sat in my lap. Every so often she would yawn, her blinks getting longer and longer. Her lovie, Count Cluckula, was tucked under her arm and she sucked hard on her pacifier. I didn’t imagine she would win the fight against sleep for much longer.
My phone rang in my pocket, and she jumped at the noise. “I’m sorry, Teenie,” I soothed.
Elliot’s face flashed across my screen, and she sat up quickly. “Dada!” she squealed.
After sliding the bar and unlocking my phone, I positioned her where she could see Elliot’s face.
“Hey, babygirl,” Elliot cooed into the phone. I loved watching the two of them interact. Elliot was such a good Daddy, such a good man.
“Dada!”
Travis and Maddox chuckled at her. She really had a chokehold on the ‘cutest Little girl’ title.
“Are you having so much fun?”
