Tinsley followed the woman over to a shelf and inspected a pink bear. She smiled, nodded, and then hugged the lady before running back over to us.
“Look!” she exclaimed, holding out the bear. It wore a tiny shirt that said, ‘I Love Grandma’.
“That’s perfect, baby!”
“Great choice, Teenie,” we praised.
She proudly paid for the bear before leaving the shop.
“How do we get it to Hazel?”
“Maybe we can text Dawson and try to reschedule breakfast for tomorrow?”
“Who’s Dawson?” she asked, her forehead wrinkled in confusion.
Laughing, I ruffled her curls. “That’s Hazel’s Daddy.”
“Oh.”
“What did you think his name was, Teenie?”
“Dr. Hazel’s Daddy.”
Tyler and I shared a laugh before hugging her between us. “You are my favorite blessing I’ve ever had, Teenie,” Tyler admitted. Damn, I was so lucky to have both of them in my life.
Chapter Fifteen
Tyler
“Is this a Daddy store?” Tinsley asked, looking around the general store.
“Uh, kinda, baby,” I said.
“What are you buying?”
“We need a metal lock and a key,” Elliot answered. His hand was sweaty in mine and I enjoyed the fact that he was nervous. It was fun to see him out of his element. I really thought it was me that was throwing off his game. He was genuinely very romantic.
“Ohhhh, holding hands again,” Tinsley sang, trying to wink at us. She still hadn’t mastered that skill yet.
I booped her on the nose and she giggled.
“Why are we looking for a lock?”
“I don’t know, baby. Your Daddy needed one.”
She looked up at him. “Why do you need a lock?”
“I need one,” he answered.
“Why?”
“Because”
“Because why?”
“It’s a surprise.”
“Oh, What kind of surprise?”
