“Andrew?” Seb roared. “I’ll fucking kill him.”

“You’ll have to wait in line,” I hissed. “I was stuck talking to him a while back and he was bragging about a house he’d bought out in the country. I think he said it was on Smithville Rd. Should we call the police now that we know he was involved?”

“Okay,” Seb said, “that’s a fairly unpopulated area, let’s head there and hope for the best. There’s no point in calling the cops. They won’t do anything until she’s been gone twenty-four hours because we have no proof of any trouble with Andrew. The three of us have a better chance of finding her on our own.”

“Wait,” Chase said, “Leah, do you by chance have the find your friends thing on your phone?”

“I do, it’s the first thing I checked after I wasn’t able to find her. Her phone must have been turned off.”

It seemed like an eternity before we reached the right road and our nerves were shot. The street was a lot longer than any of us had realized and we checked house after house after house before finding the one with his shitty car parked out front. It had taken an hour and a half to find it and she had been with him for nearly twelve hours by that point.

The three of us flew out of the car, not even bothering to close the doors. We ran up to the porch and the guys started pounding on the door.

“Andrew!” I yelled through the door. “Open the fuck up, we know you’re home.”

He opened the door so suddenly, shock and rage on his face, he nearly ate Seb’s fist. Truthfully, none of us would have lost any sleep over it. A banging sound came from within the house and Chase shoved his way past Andrew. When he screamed for Sebastian, I knew it was bad. Andrew ran toward the back of the house with me hot on his heels, while Seb ran toward Chase’s voice.

Seb caught up with me quickly and cocked his fist, ready to smash it into Andrew’s face, but my wicked right cross laid him out cold before he even had a chance.

“Fuck me,” he chuckled. “Remind me never to piss you off.”

“My dad was a cop and taught me self-defence from the time I could walk. Something about Andrew seems to bring the violence out in people. That was fucking fun,” I grinned.

Chase came up beside us, his arm wrapped around Raven. Seb gave her a gentle hug and kissed the top of her head.

“Are you okay, little bird?” he asked.

“I will be. I knew you guys would come for me. Seb, tell me you at least enjoyed knocking him out.”

“I wish I could take credit, but you have your girl, Leah, to thank for that.”

My eyes widened as she launched herself at me, crying as we wrapped our arms around each other. After a couple of minutes, she broke away, and turned to where Andrew lay on the floor. She spat in his face and kicked him in the ribs for good measure.

“Fuck you,” she snarled.

We called the police and they arrived about an hour later, each of us giving our statements. Andrew had wakened just in time to be cuffed and thrown in the back of a cruiser. The four of us piled into Chase’s car, me and him in the front and Seb in the back with Raven curled up in his arms.

“Leah, do you want to come to our place?” Seb offered.

“As much as I’d love that, I think our girl needs you guys more than she needs me tonight. Maybe another time when there’s been a little less drama.”

“Thank you, Leah,” Raven said quietly.

They dropped me back at Raven’s and I hopped in my car, headed straight for Jason’s place.

LEAH

? ?? It’s alright, you’ll be fine, baby, I’m in control… ???

I pounded on the door, conscious of the fact it was very early morning. I couldn’t bring myself to care. I needed to be in Jason’s arms. The night had been a shit show, beginning to end. I had no idea why he hadn’t answered his phone, but I had been too focused on what had happened to Raven to get caught up in that. The door flew open and I took a step back.

“What the fuck do you… baby girl? What’s wrong?” he asked, pulling me inside and wrapping me in his arms.

“I tried calling you… I… Raven…”

He helped me to the couch, pulled the blanket over me, and said, “I’ll be right back.”

“Okay.”
