She cried out, eyes wide, and slapped her hand over her mouth.
“Raven, are you alright?” I asked, concerned.
“I’m fine,” she said. “I just smashed my foot on the table.”
“If you say so. Tell me about the boys!”
Her cheeks grew hot and I knew exactly what she’d been up to. She looked at me with resignation.
“So, first of all, did you know…” she gasped, “… that they own the club?”
“I did, yes. Also, don’t think for a minute I don’t know you’re stalling. Spill.”
“Fuck,” she hissed.
“Seriously, Raven, what’s going on right now?”
“I need a minute,” she ground out, pulling out her phone.
She yelped and her fingers flew over the keyboard. A couple of minutes later, she tucked her phone back into her purse and shrugged apologetically at me.
“Do I want to know?”
“Nope. Anyway, they’re looking for a monogamous relationship, not simply someone to play with at the club.”
She cringed when I let out another squeal.
“Leah!”
“I’m sorry, but how awesome is that? I thought you might let loose a little when we went there, but not even I could have predicted you’d end up in a ménage relationship! Wait. You said yes, right?”
“I told them at first that I had to think about it. I’ve since decided that I absolutely want this.”
“Have you slept with them?” I asked eagerly.
She rolled her eyes at me. She had a shit poker face, so I would know right away if she tried to bullshit me.
“No, I think maybe they’re afraid of pushing me too far, too fast. We’ve done other things, though, and no, I’m not going into details. We’ve done a little play too.”
“I bet they’re hot in bed. Are they…?” I asked, motioning size with my hands.
“Leah!” she hissed, her face flaming, “I’m not telling you that!”
“You just did,” I smirked. “What about the play? Have you enjoyed that?”
I knew the moment she realized I wasn’t going to let her off the hook. She let out a sigh and started talking.
“I have. We haven’t done a lot of things. Again, they want to introduce me to things slowly. I’m a little worried, though. They have years of experience with this lifestyle, but I’m shiny new. What if they get bored and take off?”
“Sweetheart, you’ve known them for just over a week and, already, they’ve rescued you from a lunatic and Chase was looking at you like you hung the moon when he dropped you off. I’d wager that Sebastian would have been wearing the same goofy expression if he’d been here. Those boys aren’t going anywhere.”
“I hope you’re right.”
“Just talk to them, Raven. The last thing you want is to be keeping secrets. You need to communicate with them.”
“You’re right. Okay, your turn. Tell me about Jason,” she said, changing the subject.
I spent the next half hour telling all about Jason and my time at the club. She was thrilled to see me so happy. We enjoyed our brunch together and I dropped her back at the boys' house, waving as I drove away. Life was finally going to get back to normal.
