“But now you’ve made me curious.”
“Sorry to disappoint. You’re gonna have to stay that way.”
He swept out of the theater, and I followed him for lack of anything better to do, turning off the projector on my way. He beelined for the courtyard, shucked his clothing down to his boxer briefs, and rinsed off under the deck shower before plunging into the pool. Maybe Amir had the right idea. Cold water would do me good right now.
I could hear Callie being taken apart upstairs, and my options were to get where I couldn’t hear her so I could calm down, or go upstairs and take care of myself, listening to her like an awkward stalker.
“Want some company?” I asked Amir.
“Not particularly,” he replied before dipping beneath the surface again.
Looked like awkward stalker was going to win. I took my walk of shame up to my room, leaving the door ajar just enough that I could still hear her. I stripped off the slick-soaked pants and dropped them by my pillow so I could get her scent all over my bed before stretching out, adding a bit of lube, and wrapping my hand around my cock.
I bucked my hips, fucking through my fist, the scent of her making me dizzy, and the distant sounds of her pleasure winding me up until the tension was simply too much and I exploded across my chest, her name on my lips.
I was so fucking gone for her it was ridiculous.
“Here.” Amir set a crisp white box in front of me at breakfast the next day.
“Um, thank you? What is it?”
“Open it and see.”
I grabbed hold of the top and the bottom slid cleanly out, revealing a brand-new smartphone. “I already have a phone, though?”
“That thing is at least five years old and it’s always half drained every time I see it. You need something newer and more reliable.”
My chest warmed at the thoughtful gift. “Thank you. This is really sweet. Do any of you know enough about phones to help me get it set up? I usually just get the store to do everything when I get a new phone.”
“I can do it,” offered Amir. “Give me your old one and I’ll get the process started.”
I watched, absolutely fascinated, as he navigated his way through both phones with lightning speed, and soon enough everything on the old one was syncing to the new.
“Give it about ten minutes and it’s all yours. I charged it last night for you.”
Why was he being so sweet when he was so fucking cranky with me all the time? It didn’t make any sense.
“I should’ve thought of that,” said Kai. His cheek was resting on his hand, observing the two of us.
“I’m sure you would have eventually.” Amir shrugged. “I got to it first.”
“Do you want to hang out today?” I asked Amir.
“You don’t want to spend time with me, princess. Kai is right there. You don’t need me.”
I pursed my lips. “Yeah, I can see him. I asked you.”
“And I’m saying no. I have plans.”
The rejection shouldn’t have cut as deep as it did, shouldn’t have had a squeak of distress escaping or tears pricking my eyes.
Kai pulled me against his chest. “Don’t be rude to her.”
“I’m not allowed to have plans now?”
“Just watch your tone.”
Amir sighed and turned away from us, heading up the stairs.
