She had to stay right here.

“You’re okay, Alpha,” the voice crooned. “She needs to breathe.”

I growled and latched my teeth onto her, refusing to relinquish my omega.

More hands appeared, but my gaze was unfocused so I couldn’t see who it was. They stroked my hair and carefully unraveled my fingers from where they held onto her, all while murmuring softly and whispering words I couldn’t quite understand.

“Miles?” Her soft voice broke through the haze as she nuzzled my hand.

I grunted in response.

“You’re squishing me.”

I understood those words but couldn’t make myself do anything about it. The other hands pried at me.

“Come on, Alpha. Your pack is right here. Your omega is safe.”

Safe.

Was she? She only felt safe when I was curled around her.

“You did so well,” the voices assured me. “Let our omega go.”

Our?

Right… Pack.

I let them untangle me.

Slowly, my vision cleared and my brain let me process the faces looking down at me. Kai and Diego.

“There you are.” Kai smiled.

“You fucked our beautiful omega for hours,” Diego told me. “Luke said your tips are unreal.”

I blinked, working my brain around to remember what that meant. Bit by bit, the stage and the spotlights clicked into place. “Really?”

“You made more than Kai or I did when we bonded her,” Diego replied. “This is the first time we could get near you. The next audience swap is happening right now.”

I buried my face against Callie’s hair, huffing her sweet omega scent. It was tinged with spices and fresh air, like a carnival on a mountain top. My purr rumbled through me and I hugged her close, but not with the death grip I’d had on her before.

I felt a bit like I had been run over, but a bone-deep contentment filled me, offsetting the worst of the exhaustion. Exactly where it was coming from, I couldn’t tell. It flowed from me and Callie, and delicate streams from the two alphas around me as well.

Callie was scooped out of my arms by a scent my brain didn’t quite register, and I snapped my teeth.

“So vicious,” Amir said with a roll of his eyes. “I’m going to take care of our omega, and Kai is going to manage you two so you don’t keel over in the last stretch of the heat.”

I didn’t like the idea of Callie going anywhere, but now that she was no longer in my arms, I felt the sharp pang of hunger and the ache in my body. Kai drew us backstage, where I collapsed onto one of the couches and stared up at the ceiling.

Holy shit.

I bonded Callie.

While Miles and Diego were occupied, I stole Callie away for a much-needed bath. I was honestly surprised Miles had held it together as long as he had, though the strength of his rut had been impressive. I’d almost worried Callie wouldn’t be able to take a fucking that intense, but she’d come on repeat like a champ, her slick protecting her from Miles doing any damage. She might need to sit on an ice pack for a while once this was all finished, though.

I’d filled up the bath when it looked like things were finally calming down out there, and Callie stretched out in my arms in the massive soaker tub. She hummed happily, brushing the edge of lucidity. Her heat spikes had been longer this heat. I wasn’t quite sure if that was because it was her first natural heat with alphas, or if Diego’s bonding had kicked it off.

I made Callie sip from a water bottle while we soaked, lounging in the tepid bath. I didn’t want it to be too hot when her skin was already burning up.
