“Oh, no, Little Fae. We need to get you undressed first.”

My lips lift in a smile. “Is that so?”

He nods, reaching for the skirt of my dress. Slowly, he lifts the dress over my head. My pantyhose are next. When he lowers to his knees, I have to bite back a moan. There’s something so incredibly sexy about seeing Grant Carter on his knees for me. I’m left in my bra and panties, looking down at him.

Grant asks, “Lace? Did you wear this for me or for Moretti?”

Hand on hip, I say, “I wore it for me.”

He’s silent for a moment before standing.

“I never understood why you and Moretti dated.”

“You know why we dated, Grant. You said it yourself earlier. The Brotherhood thought it might be a good match. Well, Charles thought it might be a good match.” I roll my bottom lip between my teeth, deciding how truthful I want to be. “Alessandro and I would have never worked, Grant. Not when I was always comparing him to you.”

“Me?”

“Yes, you.” I smile. “Don’t make me say it again.”

Grant’s own smile is cocky. His mouth opens to speak, so I press my finger against his lips.

“Don’t ruin it.”

“I won’t, but I’ll be thinking about it for the rest of the night.”

“Just tonight?” At his look, I clarify, “You said on the plane that this was just the beginning. I was just wondering what you’re expecting out of this.”

He smiles. “Are you asking me what my intentions are?”

“I guess I am.”

“Let me be clear, then. This isn’t a one-time thing, Greer. Not two-times, either. I want this to continue for as long as we’re both craving each other.”

“And when we tire of each other?”

His finger brushes my shoulder. “We’ll take it from there.”

“You’re saying everything I want to hear.”

“But?”

“But what about the Brotherhood? Like you said, they’re always watching.”

“They won’t find out about this.”

I snort. “We both know they probably already know we left the baby shower early.”

He groans. “Let’s not talk about them right now. Not when I’m aching to be inside of you.”

His words send a hot rush of desire through me.

“I can do that.”

“Because you want this, too?”

“Are you searching for compliments, Grant?”

He gives me a cheeky smile that has me laughing.
