“Good for you.”
We’re both silent as we respectively do things on our phones. I finish first, dropping my phone in my pocket. I’m about to say something to Jess when the sliding doors of the hotel open and Brooks walks out. He looks to both sides until his gaze lands on me.
“Angel. Good. I thought I’d lost you.” He closes the distance between us. “I changed my mind.”
“About?”
“About that kiss.”

Brooks
My angel’s cheeks turn pink, but she shakes her head.
“Listen, I don’t know what kind of game you’re playing, but I want no part of it.”
I hold up my hands. “No game, Angel. Promise.”
“Then why chase me?”
“Why not?”
She glares, looking fucking adorable. “You’re doing it again.”
“I came after you because I didn’t want our night to end.”
That’s the truth, too. This Angel caught my attention—something that hasn’t happened in a long fucking time—and I want to see where the night goes with her.
“Unfortunately for you, my Uber is almost here.”
“At least give me your number.”
She bites her bottom lip and looks at her friend, who is nodding. I don’t know who the chick at her side is, but I like her for urging my angel to give me her number.
She huffs. “Fine.”
She rattles it off and I enter it into my phone. I send her a text right away, and her phone dings.
She looks at the screen and snorts. Actually snorts.
“You want me to save your name as Kitten?”
“Sure do, Angel.”
“Whatever,” but she’s smiling.
“Are you certain I can’t talk you into staying? We can have a drink or two.”
“The bar is about to close,” she says.
“We can use the minibar in my room.”
Her cheeks turn pink at the mention of my room, and, fuck, my cock takes note. I shift, hoping she can’t tell that I have a semi right now.
“As tempting as that sounds, I really need to go. I have class tomorrow.” Her nose crinkles. “Well, technically later today.”
Fucking hell. It never crossed my mind to get her age.
