The email goes on to list the date and time. This opportunity couldn’t possibly be any more perfect than this. Saturday is Jay’s birthday. I have two days to pick up some new lingerie, find a birthday card for Jay, and tie up all my loose ends. Everything has gone exactly as Cecile described. This will be not only an easy surprise to pull off, but the best birthday present of all. I’ve really gone and outdone myself, but I like to give my man what he deserves, and Jay deserves revenge. Besides, it’s the only thing I could think of that Jay doesn’t have. He’s so hard to shop for. I sigh, thinking about my tall, dark, and handsome Italian stallion. It has me licking my lips, remembering this morning and the way his eyes drank me up like a cool glass of water on a hot summer day. The way my man only has eyes for me makes my heart skip a beat. I know I’m hard to handle but that man was made for me and all my crazy. I giggle to myself, just thinking about all the things I can’t wait to do for him. Leaning back in my lounge chair, I watch as the water in the pool laps at the edges. It’s not even ten in the morning and I’ve already plotted the perfect revenge murder.
While Daddy Jay works the day away doing all his hard Mafia Don tasks, I message Cecile to have her complete my errands and pick out the perfect lingerie set for the auction. I’m so lucky to have Cecile. She’s always been a bit of a double agent. Her loyalty can’t be bought. She’s my cousin. Our family blood runs thickly through our veins. The auction to lure Ghost into my hands was all her diabolical thinking. Brilliant minds just happen to run in our family.
I send a different list to Frank. He’s in charge of making sure I have all the tools I will need. Shibari ropes, a carving knife like the kind you use to dismantle a turkey for Thanksgiving dinner. I won’t be cooking turkey though. Instead, I’ll be serving up a heaping portion of equal parts justice and revenge. Poor Ghost will never realize what’s in store for him or his body.
I laugh maniacally at my own deranged humor. The Ghost is about to become an actual ghost instead of just a washed up, wannabe-exiled-member-of-the-Mafia slinging dirty deals to anyone desperate enough to make one with him.
Ghost is lucky Jay wasn’t there the night he killed his brother. Jay would have shown no mercy, and two years later, given the opportunity, I know he won’t show mercy now, either. Ghost thinks he got away with it. He thinks Daddy Jay licked his wounds in defeat and took the high road, but he never accounted for me. I’m the damn Mafia queen, and I’ve been waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike him down once and for all. A queen waits patiently, acting quietly in the shadows of grief to plot her vengeance. Only revealing her true intentions at the very end, once victory belongs to her, and that’s exactly what I’ve done.
I will never forgive.
I will never forget.
I will sentence him to death; as his judge and executioner. Hand-delivered to Jay like the juicy little morsel he is. He will pay for what he took from us, for what he took from Jay. Ghost destroyed my family and now I’m going to destroy him. He ripped out Jay’s heart and left a black hole where the organ used to be. An empty void that was impossible to repair, no matter how hard I’ve tried. Watching my man hurt like that damn near broke me. I swore I would find a way to make things right. Lucky for me, the opportunity finally came knocking at my door.
Of course, I’ll let Jay do the honor of ending Ghost’s life, but I’ll serve it up for him on a golden platter just the way he deserves, like the finest cut of meat just waiting to be carved into a million tiny little pieces. After all, he’s the one in need of closure. When he’s finished, I’ll bake him a little surprise and give him the best birthday sex of his life.
This is going to be the beginning of a new era for my big, bad Mafia daddy. He’s going to make an example of Ghost, and show everyone in this stupid city exactly why you don’t mess with our family. Occhio per occhio, an eye for an eye.
The streets can flow with the blood of our enemies for all I care, and I’ll be right there, bathing in it.
Daddy Jay
My gorgeous little treasure is up to absolutely no good. I know she’s planning something big for my birthday and I’m content to play along. I’ll do anything to keep my sweet, crazy angel happy. Crossing Demi is like having a death wish. It’s easier just to humor her crazy and clean up her messes.
I hope whatever she has planned isn’t too dangerous. The boys won’t let anything happen to her, but I hate making their jobs harder. She can be difficult at times. Honestly, sometimes I think the vagrants in this city are more afraid of her than they are of me. Demi knows how to get things done. It’s one of the things I love the most about her. It may not always be the cleanest work, but it’s a job well done. My girl is dependable, and sure, maybe a little crazy, but I guess I’m a fall guy when it comes to the psycho ones. She’s my little psycho and I wouldn’t want it any other way. Watching her work gets me hard every time. Just thinking about it has my cock aching to be buried inside of her.
I run my hands through my dark brown hair, slicking it back against my head and bark orders at the group of men standing in my office before I stroll upstairs to check on my naughty little treasure. “We know she’s planning something,” I growl at them. “Your job is simple. All you have to do is keep track of her. Ensure she is safe at all times.”
They nod in agreement.
I glare into each one of their eyes, sweeping over them slowly. “Stay on Demi’s trail until I give you an order not to.”
I pause once more, waiting for them to nod their agreement in silence, then continue to address them with my orders. “Under no circumstances should you ruin my birthday surprise so long as my treasure is safe. As each of you know, Demi has a tendency to find trouble, however, she’s more dangerous than you may realize, so unless there is an immediate threat, it’s important to allow her to go about her plan.”
Again I pause, waiting for them to silently acknowledge what I’ve said. “I will be close by at all times so that I can intervene immediately. If anything happens to her—If she so much as needs a bandaid, I will punish every single one of you. One single mistake is the responsibility of the entire team.”
I’m glowering at them with a menacing sneer. Demi is my entire world. I have no family left walking this earth, no thanks to Ghost. He made sure of that when he murdered my baby brother.
“If she dies, you die. Never forget that,” I roar.
They nod. These are some of my best men. Each one possesses a unique and valuable skill that will come in handy while dealing with Demi’s birthday surprise. I truly don’t want to murder any of them, but I will, and I won’t think twice about it.
Her birthday surprises get more and more unhinged every year, and I can only imagine this year will be no different. I think, stalking out of the room and up the stairs. It’s always go big or go home. That’s what I love about my sexy little psycho.
Demi
My reflection stares back at me as I examine my appearance in the mirror. Tight leather leggings skim over my legs, hugging the curve of my hips. The sweetheart cut, deep purple silk camisole lifts my breasts, allowing them to spill out of the top. I glance across the room at my oversized designer handbag. Inside, I stashed the lingerie Cecile picked up for me. There are several more bags full of supplies stashed in the trunk of the car all set to follow my pick up ride back to the club and then on again to whatever address Ghost has provided.
I slip on my fur shrug, tossing it over my shoulders and check my appearance again, trying to imagine myself beneath it in only the lingerie hidden away. It’s the perfect touch to lure Ghost into my trap. Once he sees me, I know he won’t be able to resist the opportunity. Immediately, my thoughts shift to Jay. He won’t suspect a thing because he knows how over the top I can be when it comes to going out, but part of me feels a tiny bit guilty about all this sneaking around. Deep down, I know it’s all worth it to give him the best gift ever.
Out of the corner of my eye, I notice Jay shift in the reflection. I steal a glance over my shoulder and across the room at him. He’s so damn sexy. Jay’s hair is perfectly styled, not a single hair dares to venture out of place. His facial hair is neatly trimmed, outlining the hard lines of his jaw, softening it ever so slightly. My eyes return his mesmerizing stare, drinking up every ounce of him. Jay’s eyes are dark, endless pools clouded with torture and pain. The block of ice clinks against his glass as he swirls the liquid around. His clenched jaw flinches, but it’s the only disturbance to his stone cold expression. Impenetrable, the way a true leader should be. He continues to look at me as he brings the glass of whiskey to his mouth, leaving me jealous of the way the amber-colored liquid kisses his lips. Jay parts them to allow the liquid to seep past, and I damn near come undone, racing across the room to rip the glass from his hands and climb on top of him. I want to be the only thing his tongue tastes tonight.
He must mistake the longing look on my face for something else. He offers me a compliment instead of an invitation to ride his traitorous tongue. “You look perfect, Treasure.”
His voice is a low, sultry rumble that drips with need. It sends chills over every awakened nerve in my body, making it even harder to resist skipping everything just to fuck him for hours. Only a few more hours, I think, trying hard to maintain control. I smile over my shoulder at him so he knows I heard him.
“Don’t sulk, birthday boy. I just need to get a few things set up. Follow the directions in the card, and I’ll see you soon, my love.” I purr.
