“Will she?” I snort out a soft laugh.
“Well, she’s going to have to.” He spins me around, pinning me between him and a hard sheet of granite. “Because I’m all yours.” He leans in, and I open to him immediately, stifling a groan as he swipes his tongue softly against mine.
There’s one thing about Felix that is undeniable. This man can rile me up with nothing more than a graze of his hand. No one could ever accuse him of not being a skilled lover. He’s so good, in fact, sometimes I find myself wondering just how much practice he’s actually had. A thought I will keep to myself, of course. Not because he’d be offended by me asking, but because I don’t think I want to know the answer.
“You do remember that my parents are coming over for dinner tonight, right?” I reluctantly remind him. “And I need time to have something to actually feed them.”
“I’ll order in.”
“Felix.” I give a half-assed objection.
“I’ll be quick.” He nips at my bottom lip, hoisting me off the ground effortlessly. I wrap my legs around his middle, my hands finding dirty-blond strands that are just long enough to twirl around my fingers.
He’s always kept his hair a bit on the shaggy side and I’d be lying if I said I didn’t love it on him. Sometimes when a strand falls just right over his hazel eyes, it just does something to me. In fact, the first time we ever kissed it started out with me reaching over and brushing a fallen strand away from his forehead.
“You say that until you have me naked.” I smile against his mouth.
“I can’t help it if I want to kiss every inch of this beautiful body.” He gives me a soft squeeze. “Deserves to be cherished.” He deepens the kiss, silencing any rebuttal I might have.
His hand slides down the back of my cloth shorts just seconds before my backside comes to rest on the cold countertop behind me. Pulling away just long enough to peel the soft material down my legs, it’s only seconds before he resettles between my thighs, his warm length teasing at my center.
“How’s this for quick?” he grunts, entering me in one quick thrust, causing me to cry out in both surprise and pleasure.
“I have to cook on this surface later.” I smile, pulling his face back to mine.
“We’ll sanitize,” he rasps, reclaiming my mouth.
I couldn’t argue even if I wanted to. Not when he winds me up so quickly and intensely that every nerve ending in my body is on fire.
What starts on the counter, quickly moves to a wall, then another wall, until eventually we end up tangled in the sheets of his bed. An hour later, we finally resurface for air, and while it leaves me very little time to put myself back together before my parents arrive, it was well worth it.
While I don’t live here yet, mainly because my father would disown me if I ever lived with a man before I married him—he’s old school like that—I do keep some of my things here. Just because I don’t live here doesn’t mean I don’t stay over a lot, so it only makes sense to have some essentials at the ready.
Once I’ve changed into a pair of jean shorts and a gray tank top and freshened up a bit, I make my way back out into the living area to find Felix on the phone with the Thai place down the street.
“Told you that you didn’t know how to be quick,” I tease as he ends the call.
“You complaining?” He arches a questioning brow.
“Does this look like a complaint to you?” I gesture to my face with a smile. “I’d call it more”—I pretend like I can’t think of the word right away—“satisfied.”
“After three orgasms, you better damn well be satisfied.” He’s in front of me in a few quick strides. “But just be sure, I’d be happy to offer a fourth.” He wiggles his eyebrows up and down suggestively.
“Tempting.” I run my hands down the pale blue shirt that covers his torso. “But my parents...” Before I can even finish the sentence, the doorbell rings. “Are here, apparently,” I say instead. “And thirty minutes ahead of schedule,” I grumble quietly.
“Later then.” He presses a kiss to my forehead before reluctantly turning toward the door.
Felix likes my parents—or at least I think he does—but I know my dad makes him very uncomfortable. Hell, he makes me uncomfortable too. You’d think after two years, he’d be past the are you right for my daughter stage, but alas, my father is not as easily placated as I am. That’s because he doesn’t know what Felix can do in bed...
I shake off the thought. If my father knew what Felix does to his precious daughter behind closed doors, he’d probably strangle him dead with his bare hands.
“Remind me again why I wanted to do this?” He looks back at me, his hand on the doorknob.
“As I recall, it was your win my father over so he’ll stop questioning this wedding at every turn plan.”
“Ah.” He nods. “That was it.”
This is the first time my parents have been to Felix’s house. I think he was hoping that if he extended an olive branch and invited them to his home, my father would chill out a bit. It’s not like my father dislikes Felix, but for some reason, he’s still not convinced that Felix is good enough for his little girl. Probably because he remembers him as a teenager. But he’s not that boy anymore. Now, he’s a man. A man who has done more for Richard Mathews’ daughter than he will ever truly know.
