“Shall we go and do the boring part now?” Max says, softly. “Make sure all the T’s are crossed and I’s dotted so tomorrow you can share my name.” He interlinks his fingers with mine. “Tomorrow, you are officially going to own the happiest man on the planet.” His free hand lifts, the back of his fingers grazing my cheek. On instinct, I close my eyes, melting into his touch.

“Yes,” I say, breathless, instantly aroused by the contact. “Then we could…”

“Could do what, Beautiful?” He smiles. “Go and meet the others for lunch,” he suggests.

“I was thinking we could escape back to our room for our final unmarried copulation.”

“Copulation? Are you a scientist now?” he teases.

“I’d be anything as long as I could be with you,” I say.

His mouth snaps shut as his eyes focus on me. That growl I love vibrating in his throat. I know him. He’s kind and caring but ultimately, Max loves to be wanted. When I make my need for him clear, he rewards me well.

“You’re all I could ever want,” I tell him. “And I can’t believe you’re mine.”

“Fuck woman,” he whispers under his breath. “Let’s go get this paperwork done so I can find somewhere to fuck you.”

“We have a lunch date.”

“I didn’t say it needed to happen at the hotel.” Before I can protest, he tugs me in the direction he pointed in earlier and strides off down the street.
