He searches my eyes, that sweet smile I’m addicted to on his lips. “But I have you. I’ll be okay.”
“Would you two kiss already?” Kit teases.
Jerryn gasps. “We don’t kiss. We’re friends.”
His words tug at a part of me I haven’t bothered to unpack. He’s right. No matter how cute he is, or how sweet, or how fucking sexy, we’re friends and he’s never made a single hint that he wants it to be anything more. I have to be happy with that and live on the physical affection he gives freely.
I know myself too well to even think about crossing the line with Jer. I’m not as bad as Indy, but I rarely let anyone warm my bed more than once either. Lust isn’t worth losing everything me and Jer have. No fucking way.
Nodding, I clear my throat. “Just friends, guys.”
Kit tilts his head at me, his eyes digging into places he doesn’t belong. I flip him off and he laughs.
“Too bad,” Ridley says. “I figured we could end the night making out in a huge cuddle pile.”
Lowen scoffs. “Why would you think any of us would do that?”
He shrugs. “Why the fuck not? It’s one of you losers or some random from this bar.”
“Or no one,” Lowen says.
“Uh, no, I’m busting a nut tonight one way or another.”
“You could hit the glory hole over in New Onyx. You know that leather bar downtown has one.”
“So does the BDSM club,” Indy says. “But it costs a lot of money to get in there.”
“Eww,” Lowen says in a super prissy voice. “I would never let some guy whose face I can’t even see put his mouth on the goods.”
“You’re missing out,” Ridley says.
“Have you done that?” Jerryn asks me, scandalized. “A glory hole.”
“Nah. Not my thing.”
He nods, nibbling his bottom lip. “Are you curious about it?”
I shake my head. “No. I like to see who’s sucking me off. It’s part of the experience.”
His cheeks turn pink again as he nods. “That’s a good point. It would probably be too weird for me.”
“But if you’re curious there’s nothing wrong with trying it out.”
“Yeah, maybe someday.”
The idea of Jerryn at a glory hole doesn’t sit right with me. He deserves way more than anonymous blow jobs. He deserves a guy who would give him the world. Fuck, I wish I could be that guy, but I’m not.
Jimmy rings the bell at the bar and everyone falls silent. Fuck. It’s almost closing time.
“I’d like to say a few things,” Jimmy says as servers carry trays out with shots on them.
“Oh god,” Jerryn says. “I hope he doesn’t make me cry.”
Jerryn
“Ithink we’re all hoping that,” Bane says. “I didn’t think this night would be as emotional as it’s turning out to be. Even Kit looks on the verge of tears.”
“He does. If he cries, I’m done for.”
