“Feet,” I admitted. “I melt whenever someone rubs my arches.”

The men exchanged a look over my head.

“You know.” Aiden leaned closer. “You have two feet.”

I snorted. “I’m aware.”

“And there’s two of us….”

My face—already flushed—must have morphed into its own sun with the rate at which I blushed.

“I can count,” I said dryly, braving my way through this minefield of a conversation.

“Just checking.” Aiden winked at me then pushed off the bar to go serve a thirsty single searching for a drink.

“Shouldn’t you be getting back to the kitchen?” I asked Finn.

He shook his head. “We’re done for the evening. There’s some dessert plates to lay out but one of the staff will take care of that. I’m off the clock until close.”

“Oh.” I fiddled with a loose thread on the knee of my jeans.

Finn’s head dipped, his lips ghosting across my ear, his warm breath causing goosebumps to rise across my skin. “Ask your question.”

I jerked, staring at him “W-what?”

Finn chuckled, his blue eyes dancing with amusement. “Ask, Riley. I know you want to.”

Courage.

“When you said you were open to others in your relationship,” I forced myself to ask. “What did you mean?”

“We’re committed to each other, but we both know something is missing.”

“Why do you say that?”

Finn brushed his knuckles against my cheek. “Because we met you.”

CHAPTER 6

Because we met you.

Finn watched me without judgment—he had laid his cards on the table and seemed comfortable to leave it up to me to decide where they fell.

“I—” I bit off a response, unable to process his statement.

He grinned. “Looks like the games are over. Let me help Aiden while you think about what I said.”

He leaned in and brushed a kiss to my forehead. I closed my eyes, savoring the feel of his lips against my skin.

“No pressure, Riley. Everything is in your hands.”

He left me sitting at the bar as the cocktail mixer broke up. Groups of people moved around the room, some leaving with their friends, some leaving as a couple or more. A few came to the bar but those were few and easily handled by Aiden and Finn, leaving me to sit and stew in my thoughts.

I wanted a family and home. I wanted a body—or bodies—pressed against me on cold nights. I wanted laughter and experiences, a life filled with joy.

If Finn were to be believed, I could have everything I’d ever wanted and more.

And I wanted, God, how I wanted.
