I watched him over Xavier's head, letting my baby play with my hair.
"Yeah, of course. Now? Sure, we'll get the room ready. How old? Wow. Yeah. That's—of course. Thanks. Okay, bye."
He hung up staring at his phone for a moment then looked up, his gaze meeting mine.
"What?" I asked, heart in my throat.
"That was CPS. They've got a little boy who needs a family. You interested?"
Goosebumps broke out along my skin; my gut knowing this little boy was going to be a part of our family.
"Absolutely."
Ash leaned in, laying a hand on Xavier's head.
"I love doing life with you, Millie."
I grinned, pressing a kiss to his lips. "Shall we do burgers for dinner?"
He laughed, holding out a hand to help me up, wrapping Xavier and I in his arms.
"Absolutely."
