“How dare you not acknowledge me. I thought we bonded at the wedding,” Courtney says, fake pouting.

“How dare I acknowledge Molly first,” I say, rolling my eyes. In this moment, I’m glad I came over here. These ladies are some of my favorites and they always have a way of making me laugh. “How are you doing?”

“I’m good. I just told Charlie we are moving out there! We sold this house and found one there. The moving trucks will be here in three days,” she says bouncing.

“I don’t think the state will be able to handle having you both here.”

“Har har,” Courtney says, flipping me the bird.

“Alright, so Anya. Go,” Charlie says, wiggling to get comfy.

“We had sex at your wedding,” I tell them, expecting looks of shock but receive none.

“Yes, she told us. What’s going on?”

I would be offended she was telling people about our time together, but worry grips me. What if she needed to talk to them because she regretted it?

“Do you all just talk about me when I’m not here?”

“Self-absorbed much?” Courtney asks, making Molly snort with laughter.

Okay, maybe this wasn’t the best idea ever.

“Lorelei could tell something was off with her on the car ride home from the airport and she told her everything, which prompted a girl’s night dinner where she filled in the rest of us.”

“Awesome. Are you all friends now?”

“Babe, you are mooning over her. Of course, we are going to befriend her,” Charlie says, patting my arm. I love my best friend and her thoughtfulness. “Don’t worry, she only had complimentary things to say about your sexual prowess.”

“Thank God for that.” I roll my eyes.

“So, what’s the problem?” Lorelei asks. “Because we love Anya and if you fuck this up, we might shun you.”

“We had sex again.”

“That’s not really a problem so long as she was consenting,” Courtney says.

“It might have been in the parking lot of Harbor View Bistro. She went on a date with Miles Lawson and I might have been there on a business meeting.”

That gets me the shocked silence I was expecting earlier until they are all talking over each other.

“I like car sex, but not at a restaurant,” Courtney says.

“Guess the date didn’t go well, then,” Charlie snickers, covering her mouth as she giggles.

“I’ve never had car sex. I feel like I need to fix that immediately,” Lorelei pipes in.

“That’s hot,” Molly says, simply.

Lorelei raises her hand like she’s a student in class. I point to her. “I think my question is the most important one. How did you two end up together when she was on a date?”

I tell them everything and when I get to the part about offering to drive her home, Courtney cuts me off.

“And your offer to drive her home made her so horny she jumped you in the parking lot?” Courtney asks from the screen, reminding me she and Molly are there.

“I might have said something about her being jealous and she accused me right back and then she was checking me out. It devolved quickly from there.”

“Yeah, that’s definitely hot,” Molly says, fanning herself dramatically.
