Her hair is up on the top of her head, that tiny little shirt and tank top she’s always wearing barely cover her body.

Placing her hands on my chest she straddles my lap. “Skye,” I whisper and she shushes me as she presses her lips to mine. I can taste something fruity on her lips reminding me of the night at Ruby’s.

Suddenly her hips shift, as she grinds against me.

“Hey,” I try to speak around our kiss but she grips the back of my head and holds me tight. Her hips are still rocking and my body reacts to hers as it always does. It’s impossible, because I know how good she feels, I know how good we are together.

“Skye,” I say again, gripping her hips trying to hold her still. “Baby wait.” I can taste the alcohol she’s obviously consumed.

“Isn’t this what you want?” Her words startle me. “Just sex, no attachments, keep things casual.”

Skye tries to kiss me again and I turn my head to dodge the kiss.

“Stop.” Glancing over at her she shifts and her lips connect with the side of my mouth. With her free hand she reaches down between us and cups my semi hard cock, stroking me through my boxers.

“Baby, please,” I plead with her.

“An easy lay, all those random hookups make sense now. You just want to get laid, so here I am.” I can sense the hurt in her voice. “No commitment, no demands, just me offering up my body for you to take whatever you need from.”

“Stop."

“What’s wrong, I’m not sleazy enough?” I flip her over and pin her body beneath mine.

“I said stop.” Skye bucks her hips trying to break free from my hold. “Look at me.” She turns her head to the side and I see the tremble of her lips. “You are the game changer.” She refuses to look at me and I don’t let it phase me. “I was that guy, I won’t lie. But it all changed when I let you in. I don’t want easy, I want you.”

She closes her eyes and I feel like so much weight is resting on my chest.

“I didn’t kiss her,” I tell her and she says nothing. “I’d just gotten sick from the heavy amount of alcohol I’d consumed earlier with the guys. I rinsed out my mouth and was bracing myself on the sink when Gia took advantage of the moment. I’d been trying to get her to leave from the moment I opened the door.”

I relax, releasing my hold on her wrists and lowering my body over hers. “I can’t even blame you for being upset with me because if the roles were reversed I’d be furious. But I need you to know that nothing happened. Nothing happened and it never will. I’m a lot of things Skye, but I am not a cheater.”

She takes in a deep breath.

“You make me happy,” I whisper, resting my head to hers. “When I’m with you and Tori I feel a comfort I’ve never felt before. I feel like I can be me and the two of you will love me anyway.”

We are quiet for a few minutes and she sighs, her lips trembling once more.

“I should go home.”

“No,” I hold her tighter, “don’t leave.”

“I never should have come over.” She looks up for the first time since I placed her there. The shimmering look in her eyes guts me. I comb my fingers through her hair, feeling out of my depth because I’ve never cared for a woman the way I care for Skye. I’ve never allowed myself to care beyond the physical.

“Nothing happened,” I emphasize once again, needing her to understand and to believe me. “I don’t want out, I don’t regret us and I won’t give us up. I want you, Skye…I want you!”

I watch her and wait, and this time when she pushes up, I allow her to move. Rolling to the side she crawls off the side and stands.

“Skye.” I reach out for her and she steps back.

“I have one question.”

“Anything.” I have nothing to hide.

“If I offer you comfort, and I’m truly the one you want, then why didn’t you come to me.” Her voice is shaky. “When you finally came home after one of the worst shifts, why did you keep your distance from the one person you say makes everything better?”

She doesn’t wait for me to answer before she turns around and leaves me alone with my thoughts.
