He chuckled. "Now that I'll pay to see." He strapped himself into the seat, white looking out the window.
"I'll pay you. Just let me go and I'll pay you double what any Bastard has to offer."
He chuckled. "Little girl, you couldn't afford me even if you wanted to."
"Asshole."
He smirked, closed his eyes, and leaned his head back, not even phased by me. I once again looked him over, this time taking my time to do so. The tattoos ran across his chest and muscled arms intrigued me, one in particular caught my eye. It read, Wrapped In You, across the top of his chest and something in me wondered what it would be like to be wrapped up in someone like him.
“I can feel your eyes on me. You’re gonna stare at me all night?”
“Fuck you,” I snapped.
He only chuckled at me. “It's a long ride home. I suggest you fall asleep on your own unless you want me to roofie that fine ass of yours and help you along. Then maybe you can stop staring at me."
I snarled at him, and he turned his head to the side, linking his hands on his lap and comfortably sliding down into the chair. Within minutes he was fast asleep, and I was left strapped to a chair and staring out into the oncoming sunrise on either side of me. When I got my hands on Macabre, I was going to smash his face in. I told him I'd deal with this on my own. He couldn't just barge in and drag me back. I didn't want to go back. I was fine being on my own and helping dad. I wasn't a child anymore. Besides, he hadn't been home for years, what the hell made him think he had the right.
Tears of anger fell down my cheeks and that burn settled in the middle of my chest. I felt trapped, like I couldn’t breathe. My raven ruffled its wings, and I closed my eyes.
“Not here,” I begged it.
If I shifted there was nowhere to go. It’s not like a bird could open doors. I couldn’t hide or fly anywhere, so instead, I sat back and tried to control the animal, impossible as that was. It seemed to pick up on my unease and it ruffled through me again offering me comfort. I sank into that feeling, and slowly drifted off to sleep.
A man hovered over me, his beard tickling my cheek. A soft male voice urged me to wake up, hard lips pressing against my neck, causing me to shiver. The voice again, this time stronger, ordering me to open my eyes. Again, those lips nipped and kissed at my neck, strong hands holding me down.
Suddenly the plane jerked, and I was jerked awake. I felt the drop in the pit of my stomach as Bandit, the pilot was yelling back to us through the speakers. I let out a blood curdling scream that woke up the ogre in front of me.
"What the fuck!" He yelled, gripping on to the seat rests.
"Bandit!" He screamed.
The crackle and then squeal of the speaker echoed around us. The plane continued to descend as the man in front of me undid his seatbelt and flung himself at me. I grunted as his hard body pressed into mine.
"What, are you doing?" I managed to say between gritted teeth.
"Hold still," he grunted as he undid the bungee cords. I sighed as the thick rope released me. I was still strapped to my seat as he held on to what he could and stared down at me.
"Stay here!"
"Oh yeah, I'm just going to open the door and take a stroll down onto those mountains!" I screamed, pointing at the tip of a mountain peak.
"Fuck!" He yelled, fighting his way into the cockpit.
My heart raced and I closed my eyes. This is not how I was planning to die. The raven stirred sensing danger and I told it to wait. If there was anyone who could save me, it was my raven. I looked over at the man who had kidnapped me, and a question lingered.
Who would save him?
I shook the thought from my head, there was nothing I could do. I wondered if I could trust this stranger with my secret, but I had no choice. In the end, I had to choose between living or dying, no matter the cost.
POWERTRAIN
"What the fuck's going on!" I barged into the cockpit, the sight before me was that of a frantic situation yet oddly calm Bandit.
"Mechanical failure."
"I'm not dying in this piece of shit, Barry!"
"Neither am I!" He yelled back while flipping switches.
