I nod. “Your woman has done well with you, brother.”
He laughs this time, knowing I’m right, despite his woman refusing to speak to him.
Two days ago, at the club BBQ, she confronted him after being told by jealous bitches who wanted his cut who he really was.
She doesn’t agree with the brotherhood, and according to Doc, she’s also on missing person posters in New York. I want to start the search, but I’m waiting for Sniper to approve it.
I wasn’t there when it happened, but apparently, he ran after her only to catch her packing her stuff. That’s the last we heard about his marriage.
My boy’s eyes go toward him, and Sniper whispers, “Hey, little man. I’m your uncle.”
“I’m the better one, though,” Snake informs us, and I grin.
His eyes soften when he sees my tears, and he wraps his arm around my shoulders as Colt brings a blanket over.
“Thank you, Colt,” I whisper, and he nods, his eyes going to my son, and he asks, “What’s his name?”
I smile and state, “Alexander Frederick Peter Richardson,” as Breaker walks over to us, his eyes widening at my words.
He sniffles. “Fuck, brother.” And everyone chuckles when he wipes underneath his eyes.
I rasp, “You’ve been my rock, brother.”
He nods, his eyes glistening, and he replies, “The bitch is in the back of the van, mouth taped, tied up. When she wakes in the next hour, she’ll be looking at a dead Gracie.” He looks at my son. “Let’s get our boy to his momma.”
I nod, looking down at my son, his eyes that are so much like mine are firmly on me.
Fuck me, he’s amazing….
It takes us an hour to reach Huntersville Hospital. As we pull up, Doc and Kennedy are waiting near the ambulance bay.
I look at Colt. “You’ve proven yourself today, brother. Thank you for everything.”
He nods, his dark brown eyes showing appreciation, and I climb out with my son sleeping in my arms, wrapped in the blanket.
Kennedy rushes over, her hand gently rubbing over the top of my son’s head. “Oh Tech, he is beautiful.” I nod, and she whispers, “I need to take him to the NICU, okay, to have a look at him. Lucas says Snake mentioned his cord.”
Snake walks over and rasps, “It’s long, Ken, like really fucking long.”
She nods. “Okay, we can sort that out. Don’t worry.” She looks at me. “I need to take him and place him in the incubator.”
I nod but don’t move to pass him over. She smiles, her dark green eyes showing compassion, and gently takes him from my arms. My tears fall as I watch her gently whisper, “Hey buddy, I’m your Auntie Kennedy, and if your Auntie Sarah tells you she’s the favorite, don’t listen to her, okay?” She places him inside the plastic bassinet as the brothers smile at her words.
I’ve got a feeling Quinn will try to take the favorite auntie title, although Violet—yeah, she’ll steal him until she gets it.
The women are crazy but so full of love…. The brothers have done good.
“His name is Alexander,” I croak, and she grins, nodding, and we all watch her go as Colt drives off with the bitch in the back and Sniper following them.
I look at Doc and ask, “Is she awake yet?”
He shakes his head. “Not yet, brother, but now you’re here, hopefully, she’ll be okay.”
I nod and demand, “Take me to my girl, brother.”
Wrapping his arm around my shoulders, he guides me into the hospital. Breaker goes off with Kennedy, while Snake and Doc accompany me to my girl.
“So why, exactly, does my nephew have Breaker’s legal name and not mine?” Doc asks casually, and I laugh for the first time in hours, grateful to have these men at my back.
