He hooked a hand around the back of my knee and pushed it up towards my shoulder until I could feel the stretch. It changed his angle and the next stroke had me seeing stars. “Colton, please.”

He groaned, burying his face into my neck. “Come with me, baby girl.” he whispered into my ear as I whimpered. Three strokes later and his fingers slid over my clit and I shattered. He roared as his hips stuttered and he sank deep inside of me. I trembled and gasped as the orgasm slammed into me, sucking the air right out of my body. Stars flashed in my eyes and I gasped Colton’s name. His arms wrapped around me as he slid out of me, pulling me close into his chest as we both came back down to earth. Every inch of my body felt oversensitized and small aftershocks rocked through me. His hands ran up and down my arm as I buried my face in his chest. Fuck, he ruined me. Probably for anyone else for the rest of my life.

“You okay, baby girl?” Colton murmured.

I nodded, closing my eyes at the sudden burn of tears. His arms tugged me closer and I realized I could get used to this. But it was only temporary, I reminded myself. Enjoy it while you can. I might suck at relationships but it appeared I had better luck with vacation flings.

CHAPTER 4

RILEY

Afew days later, I shifted in my seat, enjoying the delicious ache in my hips while also trying to find a more comfortable position on the metal chair. Was it possible to pull a muscle down there?

Across from me, Colton was trying but failing to hide his smirk as he sipped his coffee. I rolled my eyes at him. “Wipe that smirk off your face, Anderson,” I scolded.

He smiled, “What? I’m not allowed to enjoy the fact I made my baby girl happy?”

I rolled my eyes again even as warmth speared through me at his words. Even though this was just a vacation fling, Colton had been nothing but a gentleman the last few days even if each night ended in me screaming his name as he brought me to the most intense orgasms of my life. It was going to suck to go back to my vibrator and lonely apartment after the last few days of sun and sex.

“What’s on the agenda today?” I asked, as I sipped my own coffee, pushing my empty yogurt and granola bowl towards the side of the table.

“Was thinking of staying close to the hotel today. We could check out one of the pools?” The resort boasted seven pools from a large main one with water slides to a few smaller ones designed to be little oasis.

“Works for me,” I said. A day at the pool sounded really nice right about now. “Do you mind if I bring my laptop to get a little writing done?” I was woefully behind on my manuscript even if it wasn’t due to my editor for months now. I didn’t like being this far behind. “Someone has been distracting me the last few days.”

Colton smirked again. “Of course not. I’ll protect you from any distractions.”

“Like you aren’t the biggest one,” I teased.

Like every morning, he stood and offered his hand, holding the door open for me as we exited the cafe and made the short walk back to the hotel. While I was up in my room, I tidied up quickly before changing into my swimsuit and grabbing my laptop. We had bounced back and forth between rooms the last few days and it was a bit of a mess as a result.

Downstairs, Colton slipped his phone into his pocket when he saw me exit the elevator. “Making sure the business is still standing?” I questioned, wondering who he was texting. I shoved that thought down though as soon as I had it. I didn’t have any right to ask him.

“Yep,” Colton said, slipping his hand in mine. “Justin was just sending me an update.”

I had heard a lot about Justin the last few days and it was clear that he and Colton were close. I was a little jealous of their friendship to be honest. Ryan was probably the closest thing I had to a best friend but he still worked for me so there was always a part of me that wondered if he didn’t work for me would we still be friends. Anxiety is a bitch.

We found one of the smaller pools away from the hustle and bustle of the main area. Palm trees grew around it, creating a barrier between us and the outside world. Another couple had set up at the far end but they looked to be sleeping. Colton set up the umbrella as I spread out my towel on one of the loungers. Warmth filled me as he remembered that I didn’t enjoy baking in the sun. He was definitely setting a new standard for my dating life when I headed home.

I pushed away the thoughts of home as I opened my laptop. I needed to get at least three thousand words in to feel better about missing the last few days and I was determined to get it done. Even with the umbrella covering me, the warm air wrapped around me like a cocoon or a warm blanket. I shook off the drowsiness that threatened to have my eyelids closing. I had to finish this. I started typing, the words struggling from my fingers and evidence of the break I had taken. I blinked slowly when I finished the first thousand words. I was just going to shut my eyes for a little bit.

The next thing I know, Colton was shaking me awake. I blinked my eyes open, and he smiled gently at me. “You zonked out,” he said softly, skimming his fingertips along my jaw. “I rescued your laptop and set it there.” He pointed to the table next to me. His hair was wet like he had taken a dip in the pool while I slept.

I sat up slowly, blinking against the bright afternoon sun as I tried to focus. “What time is it?”

“A little after lunchtime. I tried to wake you but you growled at me.”

“I did not!” I said covering my face with my hands, mortified. I was not the pleasantest to wake up.

He laughed. “It was a cute growl if that helps.”

I slumped back on the lounger. “I’m not sure it does.”

“Well it should. It was adorable,” he advised me. “But you slept through lunch so I ordered you some fruit for when you woke up.”

A bowl of fruit sat next to my laptop and again I was touched by his thoughtfulness. Colton was effortlessly raising my standards and he didn’t even know it. “Thanks, I am a little hungry. Sorry for falling asleep on you.”

“You needed the rest. Someone’s been keeping you up late.” He smirked and I rolled my eyes. He grabbed the bowl of fruit before I could and lifted a piece of juicy pineapple to my lips. My eyebrows arched but I let him feed me, my tongue licking the juices off his fingers. His eyes darkened but he lifted another piece of fruit to my mouth. He fed me until the bowl was empty. I expected him to act on my teasing but he put the bowl to the side and offered me a hand. “Care for a swim?”
