Two little kids run outside, practically crashing against our chair.
CHAPTER 16
THE TWINS
CASH
“Cash!”
Have you ever been cockblocked by two toddlers?
I guess for most parents out there, the answer would be yes.
Conor and Carolina aren’t my children, but I couldn’t love them more if they were.
I force myself to stop massaging Lakyn’s perfect tits with a frustrated groan as I adjust her on my lap to hide the unmistakable effect kissing her has on me.
“Hey C and C,” I smile. “Come here, I want you to meet someone.”
My brother and sister stop in front of my chair, eyeing Lakyn with obvious curiosity.
“Who is this?” Carolina asks, popping a hand on her hip.
I swear to God, this little girl is three going on thirty and has more attitude than there are sunny days in California.
“This,” I say with a smile, “is my girlfriend, her name is Lakyn.”
Carolina’s little forehead furrows as she’s trying to work out how to say Lakyn. “Lake-in?” she asks.
“That’s very good,” my girl says. “But all my friends call me Lake and you can too, if you want.”
Her frown turns into a bright smile. “Lake. I like it. I’m Carolina.”
Sometimes, I still get surprised at how well Carolina talks and enunciates her words, definitely beyond the skills of the average three-year-old.
“Pretty,”
That last comment comes from Conor, who on the other hand doesn’t talk much yet, letting his twin sister do most of the talking.
He’s right, though. “Yes bud,” I agree, offering him my fist to bump. “She’s very pretty.”
Carolina is on the same page too. “Like a princess.”
Ha. She better not say that one in front of Luca, I suspect he’s gonna like that way too much.
“Thank you,” Lake says. “You’re very pretty too. Maybe we can both go as princesses for Halloween.”
“Yay,” Carolina says, running to Lakyn and climbing on her lap.
I shift to steady us, since Lakyn is still sitting on my lap.
“I’m the oldest sister,” she informs Lake.
That causes a smile to appear on my girl’s face. “Really?” She asks.
“Yes,” my little sister informs her. “By five minutes.”
Conor nods along, he knows better than to argue with his sister.
