Earlier this morning, I woke up in his arms; our naked bodies tangled together and the scent of sea water on our skin.
We were too tired to shower last night when we got back from the beach but Carter’s energy had definitely been replenished in the morning, when he showed me in the shower that the mind blowing orgasms of last night weren’t just a fluke.
His smile reaches his dark blue eyes as he winks at me, making butterflies flutter their wings in the pit of my stomach.
I wasn’t lying to Carter when I told him that I’d always dreamed of a first time on the beach, under the moon and the stars.
And last night while we were in the water, I saw a shooting star and I couldn’t resist making a wish.
Carter was still inside me and I wished that his sweet, sexy attentions wouldn’t fade like the stars when the sun rose.
He’s been finding every excuse to touch me and sneak brief, shallow kisses all morning, so maybe that shooting star granted my wish.
“Hey, dude!” Dodge grumbles from the lounger next to mine. “Stop hogging Lynda. You might’ve called dibs last night, but today’s a new day and I need some sugar too.”
He leans toward me and drags me off my lounger and onto his lap. “I think you and I should go out tonight,” he says with a hopeful smile. “What do you say we leave these losers home and go out to dinner and maybe do something fun afterwards?”
I don’t have the chance to answer that Carter lowers himself on the end of our lounger, effectively sandwiching me between his body and Dodge’s. “Ha.” He chuckles. “As if Dodge knew how to have fun! His specialty is looking out into the distance all quiet and brooding.” He looks ahead of himself, in an impression of his best friend, struggling to keep in check the smile creeping up on his face; there’s absolutely no heat in his words and Dodge doesn’t let him ruffle his feathers.
“Whatever, Car! You and Bennett don’t have the exclusive at being fun. I can do fun way better than you. Now get lost while I show my favorite girl just how much I missed her last night.”
His lips crush on mine and I don’t even think twice before closing my arms around his neck to kiss him back.
As if summoned by Dodge’s words, Bennett bursts out of the pool house running toward us with a water rifle. “I’ll fight you to the death for a date night with Lynda!”
He aims the rifle at us, his lips quirked up in his version of an evil smile. “Aarghhhh sailors!” he says with his best pirate voice. “Surrender the damsel if you don’t want to be drenched!”
Dodge and Carter immediately team up against Bennett. “We’ll protect our damsel with our lives!”
I giggle, hugging myself tighter to Dodge, as Carter stands up with his long, muscled arms open in a protective stance. “You’ll have get through me and Dodge to have a shot at the damsel!”
“And me!” Zane lunges at Bennett and Carter from his own longer, pushing both his best friends into the pool.
“Shit!” Dodge laughs twisting around in his spot to shield me from the splash that comes from the pool as his three friends land into the water in a fit of hysterical laughter.
“Are you all right, sexy girl?” he asks, running the pad of his thumb over my bottom lip.
I nod, lost in the silver depths of his eyes. Maybe I should’ve wished that I knew which of my four hot guys I want to date.
Or maybe I should’ve wished that they’d stop fighting for me and decided to share.
I shake my head at the voice in my own head, remembering how Kelley and his friends loved sharing their women.
“I don’t care if you want to go out with Bennett or Zane, but you can do that tomorrow. Be mine for tonight?” he whispers in my ear.
It isn’t hard to agree and it’s even easier to let Dodge take my lips in a slow, deep kiss.
His mouth explores mine with skilled urgency and the noise of the other three men horsing around in the pool fades in the background.
My body begins to react to his nearness as our chests touch the same way they did last week in Dodge’s room when he showed me for the first time ever, that sex can be exciting and pleasurable, not something scary and predatory.
I’m so taken with the gentle massage of Dodge’s lips on mine and each caress of his tongue, that I don’t realize that we have a larger audience than just Carter, Bennett and Zane when a feminine voice reaches my ears.
“Ah, there you are, Dodge. Have you seen your sister by any chance?”
Dodge breaks the kiss to look at the newcomer, or I should say newcomers, since there’s a small crowd observing us.
Three men and two women are clustered on the tiled patio and even without Dodge’s surprised “Mom?” I’d have known that the eldest of the two women is Dodge and Callie’s mother.
