“ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR goddamn mind? I doubt she even has a pussy and if she does, someone has probably sewn it shut. Actually, that girl is so unsexy that my dick is threatening to fall off if I take it anywhere near her. Just look at her! I wouldn’t even be able to get hard. She’s absolutely un-fuckable.”
A low, husky voice reaches me and when I turn my head to look, I see a group of guys looking at the stream of people leaving the school. One of them is pointing a finger in my direction.
Assholes! Those guys behave like they’re above everyone else at school, they think they’re royalty or something. Just because they’re windsurfing champions or whatever. I can’t wait until I graduate from Shell Cove High and begin college. Even though I doubt Dad will let me attend anything other than community college or maybe Star Cove College if I’m lucky. I know he’ll never let me go out of state, especially after what happened with McKayla.
I think about my sister and quicken my step. If I have to go see her, I must do so before four pm, when I’ll be picked up by Mom. She thinks I have a yearbook club meeting, but in reality I’m ditching it today to go see my sister.
I walk quickly to the bus stop, avoiding eye contact with anyone who might know me. Not that I have a lot of friends here at school but I want to go as unnoticed as possible.
I board a bus headed to the cheaper part of town and once we leave the richer neighborhood the school is in, I relax a little. I doubt my parents would be caught dead where McKayla is renting right now. It isn’t a dangerous area just not as affluent as the one my parents live in.
I walk the few blocks to the apartment complex McKayla lives in and take in the clean but pretty shabby communal areas, a far cry from the mansion on the hills where we’ve lived for the last decade.
I let myself in with the set of keys my sister gave me, that I keep hidden in an inner pocket of my backpack. If Mom found them, I don’t know what I’d say. “Hey Mc! Where are you at?”
“In the nursery, your niece is so hungry.” And the scene that’s in front of my eyes as soon as I enter the tiny room melts my heart. McKayla is sitting on a rocking chair with little baby Skye in her arms and my niece is hungrily sucking on the breast that my sister is offering.
The view of her breast, for as natural as it is, makes me a little uncomfortable; nudity has been absolutely taboo in our household for as long as I can remember.
I sit at McKayla’s feet and she asks me how everyone’s doing. She still worries about me and my parents, I know she cares even after the way she was treated.
“They’re all right, Mc. I think they miss you, even though they won’t admit it. Especially Mom.”
My sister covers herself up and she passes me the three-month-old baby; my little niece. “Do you want to burp her? I know Skye missed her Auntie Ausra.” She smiles and I set Skye on my shoulder, patting her lightly on her back.
“Dude, you need to pat her way harder than that! She’ll never burp at that rate.” McKayla teases me.
