I reached over to stop the video that we’d been recording, his eyes narrowing when he saw it. “Is this for your fucking website?”
I chuckled, giving him an amused look. “Have you been watching my porn? That’s gross.”
“No, but I was told about it. Porn? Seriously, Tempest?”
“You can’t judge me. You married an ex-hooker and whore yourself. You own a fucking strip club.”
“Your mother?—”
“Whores are just sluts that get paid. That’s what Mom was, right?”
“As entertaining as this conversation is, you fucking shot me,” Ryder said dryly as he eyed Dad, still clutching his arm. “How about you deal with this before scolding her?”
“I might still shoot you a second time,” Dad huffed, putting his gun away and walking closer, ending our argument. “Show me.”
I helped Ryder to his feet and fixed his pants, staring at the hole in his upper arm as Dad lifted the short sleeve out of the way.
“Don’t touch me,” Ryder snapped at Dad, who took a step back.
“I’m just looking, you little prick. I thought you were forcing yourself on her.”
I sneered at him, crossing my arms. “Why are you even here?”
“Because you won’t answer your goddamn phone, and we’re worried about you,” he answered sharply, his eyes swinging back to Ryder’s arm with a wince. “I think the bullet’s lodged in there.”
“So?”
“So, you have to get it out,” he sighed with annoyance, and I glared at him.
“This is why I haven’t answered the phone. You ruin everything!” I threw at him, pointing to the door. “Leave. I don’t want you here. How did you even find me?”
“Rory let me know you’ve been crashing here when I said I couldn’t find you. You know the house has security cameras outside, right? She knows you’ve been here since day one,” he answered slowly, and since Ryder didn’t seem surprised, I wasn’t worried.
“You guys are just trying to keep us apart!”
“What gave that away? Look at yourselves!” Dad growled, motioning around the room. “You’re acting out rape scenes in front of a camera! Ryder was clean before you started spending time with him, and you were easier to control before the two of you hooked up! The living room is covered in empty bottles and trash, there’s bongs and ice pipes all over the coffee table and kitchen counter, and?—”
I snorted, shaking my head as I cut him off. “Get the fuck out. You’ve seen me, so go.”
“Tempest—”
“Go!” I shouted, his eyes sliding between us before he sighed and started backing out of the room.
“He needs a hospital or Jade to come and help.”
We ignored him as he surprisingly left, and Ryder grabbed my phone off the bedside table, scrolling through my contacts. “I’m not going to the hospital.”
“Who are you calling then?”
“Do you have every guy within a fifty mile radius in here?” he muttered. “No surprise, you have Logan’s number.”
“What the hell do you want him for? He won’t dig around for a bullet,” I scoffed, but he rolled his eyes and hit the call button, putting it on speaker before replying.
“No, but he lives with Zavier, who does do shit like that.”
Before I could respond, Logan answered. “Did your boyfriend leave you? Why are you calling me?”
Ryder chuckled. “No, I didn’t. Are you with Lopez? I have a situation and I need his help.”
