Page 15 of Learning to Change

It could’ve been his smile or sparkling eyes or the way he flirted with me without realizing it or the way he flirted with me intentionally when he was trying to get out of doing the dishes…yeah, there were a lot of ways I was fucked, but he was so happy when he got one over on me that I couldn’t feel bad about it.

“And we can’t be weird about having fun.” Joel shrugged like there was nothing he could do about that. “But we can talk about the parts we liked and what we want to explore next time.”

Ugh.

I closed my eyes and tried to decide if I could will myself into a coma.

“That’s right.” Tate was unhelpfully cheerful in that aspect. “We’re going to talk about our favorite parts and what we thought about the things we talked about. Like Joel explaining he thought he was a sub and that Dean’s a drama queen switch.”

“Hey.” Damn it. He made me open my eyes. “I’m not dramatic. This is just a lot to take in.”

They both just looked at me and sighed. “It is.”

Patting my head, Joel tried to look understanding, but it just felt like he thought I was nuts. “I know. It’s a big change but we’re big boys and we can do it.”

He was not always a full adult.

Turning to Tate, I decided to focus on Joel and not me. “You realize he’s not a full boring adult most of the time, right? I’m an adult and a boring one. You’re an adult and a not-boring one. He’s just…he’s a cute sub and something else.”

Tate’s grin was wicked and excited. “I know. I can’t wait to figure what his something else is.”

They’d both lost their minds.

“Oh, what do you think my something else is?” Joel was nearly clapping his hands he was so eager to figure it out…probably because he was assuming it meant he’d get to come again. “What are my options?”

Ugh.

That was a Tate question.

He was still radiating naughty, but he took the strange question seriously. “Well, in the building we have pups and littles. Bug guy has to be something too. He’s not boring enough to be as vanilla as he’s claiming. Oh, and I think someone in the next building over is a pony because I’ve heard some interesting rumors.”

Joel’s eyes got wide. “That sounds fascinating.”

“Which one?” I wasn’t sure I should just start randomly guessing.

“All of it.” Patting my head again, he leaned over and gave me a quick peck. “And the gossip too. I didn’t hear that story.”

He’d kissed me again.

“Wouldn’t I be so cute with a tail? Either kind.” Joel seemed to think it was a reasonable question, but I was kind of stuck on the kiss and the fact that those would be two very different kinds of tails.

“Do you want to try out being something like a pup or do you just want a tail?” Tate was thankfully thinking along the same lines, but he surprised me as he sat up and gave me a quick peck before leaning over me and giving Joel a longer one.

With tongue.

“Hey.” Shit. “Never mind.”

They both stared down at me smiling, so I closed my eyes again. If I couldn’t hide, I was at least going to pretend to.

“Oh, do I have a jealous boy?” Tate should’ve sounded like a dick as he dropped his voice and did something to sound more dominant, but unfortunately, he didn’t.

He sounded tempting.

I was smart enough to keep my eyes closed and even managed not to do anything else stupid, but that didn’t stop them from tormenting me.

“It’s going to be important for us to remember that everyone’s needs will be different and that’s okay.” Joel’s helpful Kink 101 lecture was making it really hard not to peek. “Sometimes I might need to be used like a slut and Dean might just want to cuddle. There’s nothing wrong with that.”

Part of me wanted to nod but a bigger part started cataloging all the assumptions he was making in that one short span.
