“I don’t like cuddling,” Devon admits. I glance at Mike, confused. Devon clears his throat then continues, “I don’t think there will be a time that I want someone sleeping next to me, but I know she doesn’t want an empty bed.”
I gasp, realizing this is the olive branch that he is offering. My chin trembles and my eyes start to water.
“And she wants a hoard of babies that I’m unable to give her,” Mike says.
Devon smirks, glancing at me with wicked intent. “I can give her babies.”
“And I’ll make sure she’s not alone at night,” Mike confers.
“I still don’t want to watch you with her.”
Mike’s jaw tics. “What if we try and see? I’ll just eat her pussy and then you can fuck her.”
Devon pauses, as if remembering what I disclosed about Mike’s preferences in bed. “And if I decide I don’t want you there at all?”
“Then… you fall asleep eventually, right?” Mike shrugs.
I lick my lips and wipe away the tears that spilled down my cheeks. “We can’t get married.”
Devon’s head snaps to me. I give him a weak smile. “It’s in the agreement for my trust. If I ever married you, I would owe any money I took plus interest and a large fee for breaking the contract,” I explain.
“And you signed that?” he says, incredulously.
“I was eighteen with no options. I figured we didn’t have to be married to be together. I read it multiple times, it only specifies marrying.”
Mike taps the table with his knuckles. “It’s just a piece of paper. It doesn’t define a relationship.”
“The kids can have a hyphenated last name to include yours,” I offer.
Devon’s eyebrows knit together tight, his stare focused on the table as my heart pounds with despair. Everything I ever wanted had been right in my hands, and now I feel like I’ve lost my grasp of it again.
“Nah. Probably better they’re not tied to my name in the long run since I’m a felon,” he says with a shrug.
“Devon, no.”
Mike scoffs. “Aren’t most rich people criminals?”
I gasp as Devon barks out a laugh. Scowling at my husband, I point a finger at him. “It’s not funny. Devon being a felon has no bearing on our children’s lives.”
“You don’t know that, Cami,” Mike says with a soft expression. “None of us know what the future holds.”
“Plus, I never said my last name wouldn’t match theirs,” Devon speaks up. My heart shudders for a second and I bite down on my lip.
“You would change your name to ours?” I ask quietly.
“I just know I don’t want a different last name than our kids,” he says.
Mike clears his throat. “We don’t have to decide that right now. We have no idea if Devon has super sperm to knock you up on the first try.”
Devon grins wickedly. “I had a decade of saving up for the chance. I got it in one shot.”
I roll my eyes, but I can’t hold back my smile. “So we’re trying then?”
They both look at me. Mike is the first to nod, and then we both turn to Devon. His jaw’s set tight and there’s another minute of silence before he gives a reluctant nod.
Devon
Mike walks ahead of us as if he’s marching us to our execution. Or at least that’s what it feels like to me. Cami vibrates with nerves next to me, her hand clammy in mine. When he enters their bedroom, I let go of her as he cups her face and kisses her. There’s a small jab to my heart as I watch but I force myself not to look away. Then he pulls back and glances at me over her shoulder. Cami turns to me and I pull her out of his arms, my fingers tangling in her hair as I lay a harsh kiss on her. She gasps into my mouth as I bite down on her bottom lip and then press my forehead against hers. “Cami…” I breathe out, my heart pounding away as nerves flutter in my stomach. I’m not sure if I can go through with it. “It’s always been you,” she whispers back. Pride warms my blood at her words, my cock hardening in my jeans. I smirk and look at Mike. “You hear that? Every time you fucked her, I bet she was thinking of me.”
